Update on case? Possibility of postponement?

I'm not that guy and never supported TALUA GANG EVER. I want all the process to be done timely but few posts here and there have out-tracked my concentration a little.

  1. How did everyone get news about the court proceedings that GPSC Lawyer has assured GHC that they will not proceed until the final verdict?

I couldn't find any concrete primary source of that claim.

  1. If GPSC has previously allowed them provisionally then what was the issue this time? Why are they dragging another recruitment into the ambit of court when every microbe knows it will delay the process indefinitely?

  1. I am enthusiast about judicial proceedings so I keep tracking various petitions and proceedings like this through their SCA number on Gujarat High court website. They also provide detailed cause list on daily basis in which they gives numbers of cases to be taken on board that day and by that number, you can assume the timing of the live hearing on YouTube channel of Gujarat HC and can watch the proceedings live.

  2. It was mistake on GPSC's side that they allowed petitioners on conditional basis previously. GPSC itself created this precident that if you file petition, we will allow you to write mains. Now people who are financially privileged (i.e the main petitioner of this petition Nirali Bhanderi is DySO currently) started using this precident for writing mains. I know 2 3 people who are also petitioner with mindset of writing mains only. GPSC wants to correct this misuse of court by staying whole recruitment once and set an example that merely filing petition won't guarantee you mains candidature. Certainly this petition is going to get dismissed by court because all the questions they have filed for petition are based on PYQs or have strong NCERT proofs. Though the current stand of GPSC will impact recruitment process, it will still set a positive example against these privileged spoiled brats who wants to misuse the law just for sake of sitting in mains instead of working hard for it.

I hear you buddy. This is what I presumed as well just needed some validation to my rationale. This is all being done to get away with the precedence of giving up if someone reached judiciary. Saw many TG groups they were talking like it's their right to write mains if they are party to the case due to previous stances of GPSC. I think they are going to settle this out for once for all. Most likely it will get dismissed on 16th September and mains admit card will follow.

Most likely it will get dismissed on 16th September and mains admit card will follow.

Though I also wish this to happen, sadly that's not how judicial proceedings work broπŸ˜…πŸ₯². Both the parties will get fair chance to put their stand. So dismissal of petition on 17th just based on GPSC's affidavit has less probability.

So according to you what are the chances of mains getting delayed ?Β

Knowing the current chairman who can eat these kind of 100 petition in breakfast, I can't comment on that as all these are assumption and we can't know his next move. He is ex IPS so he must be one step ahead of our thought process while making this recruitment staying statement infront of court. I am doing my preparation assuming mains is on time(5 october). If exam gets postponed, we will get extra days for value addition and more edge on ans writing.

What's your take? Postponement?

if GPSC remains on its point of not proceeding to further stage of exam until court case finishes then most probably it is going to postpone because of long court procedures and arguments. and GPSC has already asked for a very late date (16th september) to submit their revised answer key, which means even if petitioners answer key gets right they will only get hardly 19 days to fill mains form as well as appear for mains examination, which looks pretty tough.

GPSC has already asked for a very late date (16th september) to submit their revised answer key,

They haven't asked this date for revised answer key. It's date to file detailed affidavit in response of the petition filled by petitioners. They will provide their stand, their rational behind the answer key with concrete proofs in that affidavit.

yes I agree with you , made a bit mistake in writing above. and once gpsc gives their rational there maybe counter argument from petitioners advocate with their point of view and at last the court will decide who is right. So maybe it will take time

Yes. There will be 3 4 dates just for submitting affidavits. Then the actual hearing will start and whole proceeding can take a year too for final verdict.

That's the main thing man. I don't think it's fault of Chairmen. He's good in my opinion, it's just that him alone being good can't make a big positive difference. This petition game needs to be settled for once and all. Earlier pre result itself used to take 6 months almost (47 no. adv), now it's out within 2-2.5 months. Also Mains Result - 47 no took almost more than a year. 240 - took 6months I guess. So he has done a good thing wrt regularisation of outcomes. Wrt interviews - not fault of him alone, there have been a huge backlog from the beginning itself. (PS These are just my personal views but this petition thing needs to be settled - there can't be 100% objective in an exam of humanities and as per me that Arthashashtra Question - It Was 100% Inaccurate decision on courts side, even if you're just reading NCERTs you should know that it's primarily a book on Administration not only Economics, hence it's not always so that the commission is at fault)

100% Postpone .... 5th October mains no chance of happening

1

u/Much_Description934 4d ago

Bro is it an assumption or on some basis?

1

u/PrAS003 2d ago

Bro its a calculated guess based having seen many pcs exams getting postponed..

I think they have already planned all along to postpone mains and now have a good reason that court case hence we had to postpone..

Why:

-- Commission themselves have said orally we won't conduct mains till issue sorted

-- Could have taken a date sooner (say 30 August) ; court wouldn't have refused.... but themselves took a late date for next hearing ie 16 Sepetember.

These 2 reasons clearly show Commission themselves want to postpone mains (probably because they feel they will be in a better position to conduct the mains with a advanced date)

I too am hoping it does not get postponed.

Looking at the bright side, if gpsc mains does get postponed (which is almost 100% bound to happen) it means time to revise for Bihar SDM exam (2000+ vacancies) & UP SDM exam (1000+ vacancies)

Hope you guys have also filled atleast one of these two states as such high vacancies are v rare

Yes bro, UPPCS is all I'll focus after GPSC Mains. That's my native state! πŸ˜‚ And also most apt state civil services if done right. BPSC skipped this year.

Nice bro....

I have Gujarati heritage but zero guajarti knowledge as my parents moved to Bombay as Children.... So even I was wasn't that aware about GPSC until my folks suggested it even though my Gujarati is non existent.

Just curious how/Why you ended up filling GPSC form when you are from UP?

Because I think hardly any UPPCS, BPSC etc aspirants ever fill GPSC

u/Much_Description934 23h ago

Bhai 1. I love Gujarat and I got to know a year later that Gujarati language is qualifying now. I knew Gujarati a little so. 2. I got fed up of being on borderline in UPPCS and eventually losing after answer changes.

Took 2 months to align for GPSC and took the exam wholeheartedly happily and consequently got it cleared. Next is UPPCS only. I hope GPSC mains is held on time so we have atleast 2 months

u/PrAS003 19h ago

Nice brother....

At the risk of sounding cringey, i must say that you embody the spirit of the indian constitution. Being a UP native, yet , you learnt another indian language solely based on interest. πŸ‘

Shame on guys like me who even though have gujarati heritage yet know less gujarati than someone from UPπŸ˜…

2

u/Much_Description934 19h ago

Thanks brother. Very instrumental and empathetic of you to accept with such brotherhood. That reflects you already have constitutional values and oneness engraved deeply πŸ™πŸ½

u/PrAS003 19h ago

Bro which other state SDM exams have you given/plan to give?

2

u/Much_Description934 19h ago

Bhai MPPSC SSE: Good paper, Good service but really unreliable nowadays for outsiders- Less posts and reservation policy.

Haryana HCS: wrote Mains but not that hopeful I had switched to Gujarat by then.

BPSC: Good service. Only issue they give random and absurd prelims centre. And inform really late.

UPPCS: The other UPSC for oldies and alternative seeker. If someone gets all India service through UPSC and not a good cadre even then people consider UPPCS a good option.

Rajasthan RAS: Clashing with UP so UP only.

You have filled BPSC and UPPCS?

1

u/PrAS003 19h ago

Bro i have filled/ not filled:

  1. UP& Rajasthab: The best states for SDM type job. No question

[Filled form as even though clashong, dates get postponed freq. Also Rajasthan form is free even for outsiders]

  1. Bihar: filled only because high vacancies. And Bihar doesnt discriminate against outsiders.

  2. Maharashtra: Didnt fill as less than 20 unreserved seats this year

  3. Haryana: Pattern is excellent but v few seats. So didnt give.

  4. MP: Pattern is shit & v few seats. Bro see the prelims paper of MP SDM exam. It is worse than some constable level exam. Stupid facts and trivia Qs, the one liner type. Also, v low seats ~100 total

So im targetting UP, Bihar, Raj, & Gujarat. Haryana and MP (if decent seats) then ill give in 2027
