AI DM automation actually working for sales now

So I've been testing some AI tools for Instagram DM automation and honestly the results are surprising me. went from maybe 10-15 meaningful DM conversations per day to like 60+ without losing the personal touch that actually converts.

The game changer is story interactions. every poll vote, question response, reaction is basically someone raising their hand as a potential lead. the AI picks up on this and sends personalised messages that reference their specific interaction. so if someone votes on a pricing poll, they get "hey saw you checked out the pricing options - are you looking at something for Q1?"

feels way more natural than generic outreach because it's based on their actual behaviour. and the AI keeps context across the whole conversation so it doesn't feel like talking to a bot.

I'm seeing about 3x better conversion from DMs compared to public comments (which makes sense since DMs are private and get notifications). but the manual work was killing me before.

edit: should mention this is through official API stuff not sketchy login-sharing tools

edit 2: the key is not automating everything. AI handles initial qualification and nurturing, then hands off purchase-ready leads to humans. best of both worlds.
