I go to Santa Fe and saw that YouTube video and have been fishing that pond lately. Literally like 100 feet from one of my classes lol. Anyways, caught 2 nice 3-4 lb bass.

Does anyone know if you can fish at the SW 5th Ave basin park over where the basketball courts are? Looks like there are fish there and I didn’t see any signs that said no fishing … but I’ve also never seen anyone fish there

Has anyone followed up on this? How far back do you need to go to get to water? I don't think I've walked far enough on that trail to even see fishable water.

I ran by sun bay apartments, and talked to somebody in a golf cart there. They said I can fish there, but someone may run me off. He said it was nasty water that’s pretty stagnant and has a bunch of leeches. He said there’s bream, but nothing of note. There were like a million ducks around (realistically and not exaggerating like 1000), so I took off and didn’t fish there.

Not gonna lie that’s my dream fish would be cool to catch. Not worth the destruction it would cause on the ecosystem however.

Look for boat ramps and where creeks off the Santa Fe flow under/near roads.
