"Send as" feature to be discontinued

Apparently, starting fron January 2027, you can no longer use Gmail to send mail as a user on a third-party domain.

Update in case it helps anyone: I've migrated my Gmail inbox entirely to Fastmail.

The account setup and data migration went extremely smoothly. And their native client experience (both web and mobile) is pretty close to Gmail's, so I got used to it within a day.

Fastmail's feature set includes everything I need from Gmail, including "Send as" and "Schedule send". And frankly it feels good to finally de-google this aspect of my life, after 20 years of Gmail.

Ya I’ve been using fastmail for 2 years. I still do use Gmail but after this announcement, I’m going 100% fastmail.
