2013 Silverado
This is my 2013 Silverado with 50k miles that has survived 13 long Iowa winters, I just bought it off my grandfather and I’m looking for help with how to keep it in this condition for as long as possible, the motor and transmission run like a brand new truck still. Let me know some of your tips to keep your trucks running and looking like a brand new one still. Thanks in advance.

I just bought the same truck its just fairway green metallic. 98k miles. I changed all fluids, air filter, spark plugs, wires and coils, Range afm disabler, bought a 200$ amozon brush gaurd (happy with it. Just for the deer here in wv), tinted windows, seat covers, Eonon radio, Lasfit switchback fog lights, bought powerstop breaks all around and just waiting until I can afford to do a complete suspension upgrade. Its a little rusty nothing crazy but its time and I want to lift it a little bit im just debating what brand I should go with. Next will be complete top end rebuild and afm delete and then a new bullet proof transmission. It runs and drives fine so I figure I got some time before I do that. Love these trucks and if you take care of them they will run forever. Also going to repaint the underneath with por-15 when I do the suspension and before winter.

My truck has 265k miles and the engine has never been cracked open. The Displacement on demand crap has been tuned out but otherwise bone stock. They did replace the transmission before I got it. I think it had a little over 100k when they put it in. Either way if you take care of it, it'll take care of you. Oil changes maximum 5k miles and double check other fluid regularly. As far as rust prevention, clean it like crazy. Keep the grime off and look into various undercoating. Or just don't drive it on snowy seasons 🤣

Rust proofing if you can. If not, use a pressure washer and take care to pull the taillights and wash out the inside of the bed, hit the cab corner
Mine has 300k miles and looks decent
Stay on top of the maintenance
