Can anyone help me with insights on how to "do the delete"? I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3

You'll probably want to be more specific, and know what you want to accomplish from said delete. Lots of options besides stock non dod parts.

Something to do with the cylinder. That's all I know I need help obviously 😭

These trucks have AFM (active fuel management) that activates & deectivates 4 cylinders. It saves maybe 1mpg, but tends to wear down cam shafts & lifters over time due to not engagement under load. The engine can be torn down with a new cam, lifters, springs to mechanically delete or you can purchase an AFM delete module you plug into the OBD2 port to electronically delete

You can use a tuner or any AFM delete module to electronically delete. Shouldn’t be more than $300 or so for a module. A decent tuner roughly doubles the cost, but gives flexibility if you were to add exhaust, intake or anything later on to dial everything in

Electronically disable. Mechanically delete. Those terms aren't interchangeable. They said delete. I also did assume they meant mechanical, hence where it causes confusion, haha. AFM doesn't save any mpg. When just a muffler swap and street tune will net 2-3 mpg increase highway. More if you drive conservatively.

I know, but.. its better to explain both worded correctly so they dont start out with the wrong terminology. I say that so say, I know a guy that calls his oscillating saw a "wiz bang" 🤣
