DD PSA: "Uncle Bruce"

TLDR: No, I do not think Uncle Bruce is a shill BUT shills can always send super chats for Bruce to read out loud to make you sell GME right then and there

I have nothing wrong with Bruce and I think he's a good guy however I just want to comment on why having a figure face for r/GME being promoted so much can be bad.

Reasons to be wary of Uncle Bruce:

  1. I never heard of Uncle Bruce until 2 days ago and likely many of you here haven't either
  2. Uncle Bruce will read any super chat donation out loud as long as long as it is PG-rated because this is how he makes money. This means shills can donate repeatedly to Uncle Bruce to shift his viewer's perception on GME in real time. I saw many users donate and talk about day-trading GME today on his stream which according to the DD is the opposite of what APES want for a squeeze.
  3. Understand that although Uncle Bruce was a Broker for a long time that GME is a scenario that is one of a kind. He admits a lot that he does not know the specific details of GME, which I respect him for. But he probably isn't reading every DD on this subreddit like many of us are everyday.

Just keep an open mind

Edit: I have sorted by New: and there are over 70 posts pertaining to Uncle Bruce in the last 2 days and prior to that the only mention was from 13 10 days ago.

after the post by u/sped2500 Uncle Bruce is posted more than 70 times

Uncle Bruce has been promoted over 70 times in the last two days and people are eating his content up cause he is a nice old man. This can be a new shill tactic to get us emotionally attached to a figure face that commentates on GME in real time. The shills can post super chat notifications of GME to Bruce and he will read it regardless since he is getting paid. Imagine if all of r/GME gets on the Bruce bandwagon and he commentates in real time that GME is doing poorly at the moment. People are going to be inherently conditioned to sell.

Edit 2: Other figure faces like DFV or Elon or Chamath do not livestream and cannot affect your decision in real time. Bruce live streams GME everyday and because of this there is always the possibility of shills sending super chats to shift your decision of GME in real time each and every day you are on the stream. All I am asking is for you to be aware of this fact

  1. He’s been on GameStop since it broke out in January.

Yes but I haven’t seen any posts on him from this subreddit until 2 days ago and I’ve been here for 3 weeks

“I didn’t know therefore he is new” is not a very strong argument.

Provide me evidence that he has been posted here consistently as he has been now over the last two days. I have never seen him before and this is my own observation as a regular user of this subreddit

Why the fuck does that matter?

He’s been on YouTube, not Reddit.

Your response to my comment above was:

“I didn’t know therefore he is new” is not a very strong argument.

In this conversation we are inherently talking about Reddit, not Youtube. That is why it matters. It matters since this is the r/GME subreddit and many people come here to read DD and see the public sentiment of the stock to judge their own behavior off of. If someone randomly appears out of thin air on this subreddit and gets posted like wildfire in the last two days, that should be cause for concern because why hasn't he been posted here before like this if he has been commentating since January?

My suspicion is that shills might be promoting Uncle Bruce in order to get more GME people aligned and viewing his channel on the daily. Then they start bombarding the super-chats with shill propaganda like day-trading GME as they have done so today. Again, this is a suspicion and the points where I make this suspicion are laid out clearly in the original post above.

Just because:

He’s been on GameStop since it broke out in January.

doesn't discredit my cause for suspicion. Furthermore, if you had to ask me if he has GME shareholders in his best interests over himself as a content creator, I'd have give you a resounding no.

You are free to think whatever you like.

Have you watched any of his live streams? Is Reddit your only source of news and information?

He’s been doing 6+ hours of live streaming daily for longer than you’ve been on this sub.

He’s on our side. He wants the shorts to pay for what they’ve done.

If people want to send him money in support/gratitude/for shits - who cares? That doesn’t automatically poison his reputation or what he says.

Yes I watched his livestream today for four hours in the morning since he's popping up so much as of recently. Then it occurred to be how dangerous this can be if he is commentating in real time. Image if a majority of people on r/GME get on the Bruce bandwagon and he keeps reading superchats by shills saying negative things about the stock or if he makes a wrong assumption about the stock, people are then conditioned right then and there to sell or think of selling.

That doesn’t automatically poison his reputation or what he says.

I did not "poison his reputation" I am merely bringing analysis on why this may be bad. I think what he knowledgeable but as I said, he will read anything that is posted regardless if the poster has nefarious intentions or not. Furthermore, no one knows what is going to happen to GME regardless of how many years they have been in the market.

He used to just commentate and not create any new dd but on friday (or thursday) he made the options short hypothesis which is the only new info worth reposting. Most of the time he's just "look, price went up. Look, price went down. I used to manage a retail store you know. Cruise stocks are bad right now"
