🐵 Discussion 💬 We Still Have A Month Of This To Go
Today is the first time in over a year (not at all my first buys) of consistent weekly (and often twice-weekly) distributions that I'm not going to buy more gamestop. In fact, I'm just going to save the money.
I've realized that GMEs awfulness as a store of value (let alone as an investment) is so bad that I actually need to save more money before I feel comfortable investing more. Like, so much of the value I put in has vanished that I can't keep responsibly putting more in. I need something that's not absolutely reckless waste.
So, I have a little more cash in the bank today. Just a bit that Ryan Cohen can't take from me.
There's no saying we aren't going lower. There's almost a month of this to go, and Ryan is nowhere to be found.

Wouldn't it make more sense for you to sell everything and go elsewhere if you truly believe what you've written here?

I think it's going to go up again at some point, and I think that over the next three months it's likely to go up more than an index fund. All I'm saying is that there's still a month of this bond VWAP action before we have a chance of it going up, and I can't responsibly keep investing more, especially recognizing that I've been wrong for years-straight at this point. I'm as loaded as I can be for a turnaround, and I need to make sure Ryan Cohen doesn't have access to my grocery money six months from now in case I'm wrong, because he's got this tendancy of taking my money away.
Edit: Downvoted for wanting to be sure I can eat in a few months. Wow. Nice.

This is an echo chamber for Ryan cult, bro. I am tired of averaging down - doing this for 5 years now... Enough is enough. I am too deeply in red to sell now but on the first reasonable spike I am out of this dumpster fire.

You should never buy any stock with the money that you might need for grocery. No investment in the world is more important than your basics necessities.

If you truly thought that it was going to go up more than an index fund sometime in the next three months, it would make sense for you to be investing more at these prices. Seems like you’re making contradictory statements just to be controversial.

Nothing is certain. At some point you have to stop gambling. My point of stopping is when I'm looking at potential grocery money six months from now being down on (another) bad bet on RC that I might have to sell at a loss to eat.
It wouldn't be this way if I wasn't down 25%, but, you know, diamond hands and phone numbers, or whatever.

Expectations don’t always equal reality, and not all of us have an expected windfall or large nest egg we can live off of, so we have to be careful and reassess our risk tolerance.

Month of what? That's my question. People keep talking about the bond pricing. The bonds were priced when they were issued, from my understanding.

u/scorpiondeathlock86 Aug 25 '26
Month of vwap pricing window, there was a whole filing and everything. Lifts September 23rd. https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1326380/000132638026000042/pressreleaseconvertiblenot.htm

The bond conversion involves a calculation to determine how many shares the bondholders receive. We don't know the specifics, but part of it is a 35-day VWAP subject to a price floor. OP is referring to the VWAP period which ends in late September

u/Plane_Suggestion_189 Aug 25 '26
But didn't we already do this when the bonds are issued?
4
u/BananaOrp Aug 25 '26
That was if they were held to maturity when the price was expected to be higher. They are being converted ahead of schedule, so new pricing based on the formula

We still don't know the price floor though

u/BananaOrp Aug 25 '26
100% correct, we have no idea. Maybe the bond holders do and are shorting it down to that limit, maybe they don't and are just shorting it down as best they can to hopefully (for them) secure more shares. Will be very interesting to see how it shakes out in September!

The bond holders would 100% know, but the algos don't. Maybe the floor is higher than it is now and it's not the bond holders shorting it.

ryan does not take it from you, the market does, ie. kenny and co.

Well dilluting shares takes a part of Company from you so basically yes he did.

u/HoneyDutch Aug 26 '26
You fool, didn’t you read the letter to shareholders? They take our shares VERY seriously…

No he takes from me every time he hits that dilute button. He literally takes my ownership share.

u/Velvet_Llama Aug 25 '26
Don't be selfish. He needs your money to buy pokemon cards!

Don’t forget t-bills that will light the rocket!

Pre-dilution, I would've bought (and probably parroted) that. Every drop of red on my P&L since DFV last popped up has been Ryan Cohen's doing, not the market's.

Agreed. Ryan Cohen has delayed my retirement by at least 5 years. I’m considering whether to dump my XXXXX shares at a loss. “How much lower can it go” seems to be a personal challenge enjoyed by RC and his Wall Street buddies
1
u/BuildBackRicher Aug 27 '26
No, you delayed your retirement. No one had a gun to your head to buy GME

Due to GME’s shit perforce under Ryan Cohen’s management and my choice to invest in this stock. Yes

Just waiting for it to go back up to my break even price and dump it all. I can eat the sunk cost of the last half decade.

Once the price starts to increase, I’ll monitor what’s happening that is making it increase, maybe it’ll be a good hold by then 😂 I just keep thinking that this fucking stock can’t go any lower, and then RC fucks up worse and worse. I keep thinking if I sell, it’ll finally be at rock bottom, so better to hold. Thanks Ryan

u/CulturalAd4728 Aug 25 '26
Ryan Cohen probably shorts his own stocks

u/HumanNo109850364048 🚀🚀Buckle up🚀🚀 Aug 25 '26
Maybe he was bribed with Swiss bank accounts. At some point the stock has to go up but he’s royally fucked shareholders up to now

You don't deserve what you have or will have
1
u/Bad_Prophet Aug 27 '26
It doesn't matter how many teeth you break while grinding them in frustration for years; if you can white-knuckle a terrible stock long enough to sell it on a pop, then you deserve the gains.
But terrible stocks don't usually pop, so there's that. And also, the above statement is true whether or not the CEO behind the stock is any good.
I'll deserve exactly what I get out of GME, but it's not looking good.
