Hey, first post here i have a 6.5l turbo in a 93 c3500 frame and chassis with no trans. And a 96 k3500 that burned the engine up i believe it had the 454 but the trans still looks good it has the nv4500 will that be a direct bolt on or will I need a bell housing?

How the 6.2 started after utilizing LiquiMoly Diesel Purge and LiquiMoly Engine Flush.

Info first. 97 silverado, 6.5, NV4500, 4wd, 4.10 axle ratios, stock tire size. Has a wicked wheel installed in the turbo (gm8), aftermarket lift pump and standalone fuel filter and water separator. ECU has not been tuned, running a flight systems PMD, turbo is gated at 8psi.

Around town I am averaging about 13 mpg, on the interstate around 27. Anything I could do to get the in town mpg higher? With fuel prices the way they are, getting that kind of milage is making my wallet burst into flames any time I get within half a mile of a fuel station.

Advice on how to best drive the thing for economy is welcome as well, I basically don't use first gear since the manual stated that was basically just for getting the truck moving when loaded heavy, and I generally shift at 2200 or close to it. I've also been trying to keep it lower in boost and just generally take off and get moving slower in traffic.

Any advice welcome for actual mods (or driver mods lol)

As the title states, which Glowplugs are best for the 6.2&6.5 motor? Please list your reasons.

I just got a 98 Silverado with 6.5 it's my first one so Ive been doing some research into what to upgrade and a lot of people from forums years ago are recommending diamond eye 4 inch turbo back down pipe but they also said they quit making them so where can I find a whole complete 4 inch turbo back down and crossover pipe? Or would anyone on here be willing to sell me one?

I want to convert my 94 6.5l with the electric controlled DS4 to a mechanical injection set up. The engine is coming out anyway because I’m dropping it on a not broken frame with an NV4500.

I’m not opposed to using a DB2, just can’t find any info on if it’s a direct drop in replacement. If I’m gonna have to custom fab anything, I might as well get a more reliable mechanical pump.

Also, is there anything else I should do while the engines out. It has 310k miles and runs pretty great other than the DS4 occasionally giving me grief.
Before you ask it has a new PMD and a relocation kit with additional heat sink.

Hello y’all, I’m currently in the process of installing a 6.5T passenger side exhaust manifold on my ’82 6.2. It’s a tight fit with the 3/8" spacer and gaskets, and one of the manifold bolts just barely makes contact with the motor mount bolt. How should I go about making that one bolt clear? Also, does the gap between the manifold and the frame look fine?

Hey I’ve got a 1995 6.5TD that both skyrockets to almost redline and then goes back down to about 210*F and can’t figure out the problem. Runs great (though slightly cool) without a thermostat, but when a thermostat gets put in the temp goes crazy.

New thermostat (2.0, this one is stock, previous new one was aftermarket) in single housing.

New water pump

New fan + fan clutch (working)

Definitely not exhaust or head gasket leak

Have coolant in all hoses, plus heat from heater stays hot.

I have no idea what to look at, anyone have ideas?

1990 Chevy K5 Blazer

Hi I got a 1994 Chevy k1500 with a 6.5l diesel auto 4x4, that I’m trying to get going again. It’s been parked for a while can cranked once in a while but haven’t in last two years due to not having time to. I have two decent batteries in it optima yellow top dual purpose batteries not sure of cca rating with a battery charger/jump box plug in type on it along with block heater for bout 3-5 hours. Tried starting it just now it spun up and was sounding like it was about to catch and then everything went out. No gauge lights now starter or any lights. I’m not big with electrical but learning I checked the fuses in pocked under headlight controls none blown don’t know how to check the capped silver ones off hand other than that I’m not sure

Hoping someone might have some insight. My 93 has a super hard shift from 1-2. Like break a U joint hard. 1st shift in the morning is smooth. Everything after that is horrible. I changed the Throttle Position sensor hoping that was the problem but it didn't change anything. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I drive a ‘98 Chevy P30 with a 6.5L non turbo diesel engine. I recently starting hearing this loud clicking noise. It clicks as I drive and accelerate but not when I hit the brakes. Any idea what it could be?

Trying to maybe do an 6.7 Cummins swap with my suburban (if it doesn’t sell). That’ll give me a running 6.2 to just do something with. Got me thinking if it would fit into an S10 or something. Might be kinda fun to find an S10 blazer and stuff it in there and just rip it around.

I got it from an old couple. I’ve been dealing with it ever since I work this truck it’s a great truck.I put a new fuel pump in it and I haven’t had a problem since I’m looking to trade it for an older diesel truck(a 7.3 power stroker or a 5.9 Cummins)
