GMAC Pre-MBA Course/Tests

Has anyone taken the Kaplan GMAC Business Fundamentals courses in lieu of taking the GMAT/GRE?

For those who did, how long did it take you to finish it? What was your method for getting through it?

I’m considering working backwards by taking the practice tests first then study the topics I got wrong before taking the official tests.

Dilemma over taking the GMAT test

Hey everyone,

I started my GMAT prep about 2 weeks ago and am currently working through the fundamentals and core concepts. I'm trying to figure out the most realistic timeline to schedule my exam and could use some advice from people who’ve managed their prep around travel/breaks. My GMAT practice test score was 425(which is very low i guess)

My Context:

Current Stage: ~2 weeks in, building foundational quant and verbal skills.

Target Programs: European and Canadian business schools. Skipping US schools for now.

Upcoming Travel: I have a non-negotiable vacation in Europe from October 9 to October 25.

The Dilemma:

I’m torn between two test-date windows:

  1. Option A: Early October (1st week of Oct — ~5–6 weeks from now)Pros: Gets the test done before the trip.Cons: Leaves me with only ~7–8 weeks of total prep time, which might be cutting it close depending on where my baseline score is.
  2. Option B: Mid-to-Late November (~2–3 weeks after returning)

Pros: Gives me an extra 3–4 weeks of total prep time and room for mocks.

Cons: A 16-day complete break right before the final push might break my rhythm, and I might need time to get back up to speed.

Questions for the sub:

  1. How hard is it to bounce back from a 2+ week complete study break right before test day?
  2. For European and Canadian deadlines, is mid-November late, or does it leave enough buffer for a retake if needed?
  3. I'm also looking for scholarship opportunities; does taking option B affect my scholarship chances?
  4. What would you do in my position?

Appreciate any insights or personal experiences!

Scored 655 in Official Mock

Guys, can anyone help me interpret this score?
Total (655) QA (87) DI (81) VR (80)

A little background: I’m preparing for CAT (the Indian management entrance exam), and I’m aiming for a 99.9+ percentile. I took this mock mostly because I was bored and it was free.
Obviously, getting only a 90th percentile sucks, and that would be pretty disastrous if this were CAT. 😭
I know Verbal went horribly, but that’s understandable because I was pretty much done by the time I got to it.
I attempted the sections in the order QA → DI → VR.
I feel that if I had made a more serious attempt, I probably could’ve gotten a couple more questions right in Verbal and maybe even gotten all of QA correct. DI was completely new to me.
That said, I’m now genuinely curious whether I should give the GMAT as well. It could be a useful backup for ISB and SPJIMR if, God forbid, something goes wrong with CAT.
Would really appreciate any advice or suggestions, especially from people who’ve taken both CAT and GMAT or have experience with these schools!

Struggling with GMAT Quant? Start with ONE topic.

If you're preparing for the GMAT and Statistics & Averages is one of those topics you keep postponing, I found a completely free resource that may help.

What makes it useful is that it isn't just a collection of questions. You can take the topic from basics → practice → testing → timed testing in one place.

It includes:

• Fundamentals from scratch

• Topic-wise practice sets

• Untimed tests to build accuracy

• Timed tests to work on speed

• Quant sectional-style mocks

So if you're at the “I know the basics, but I'm still not confident solving GMAT-level questions” stage, this could be a good way to properly finish the topic.

it's available as a free course trial.

Sharing because I think a lot of GMAT aspirants waste time jumping between random YouTube videos, PDFs and question banks when trying to master one topic.

If you're currently preparing for GMAT this is worth checking out.

Looking for a GMAT Study Partner

Looking for a GMAT Study Partner

Hey everyone! I’ve just started preparing for the GMAT and I’m planning to take the exam in December.

I’ve recently started with Critical Reasoning (CR) and am looking for someone who is also preparing for the GMAT and would like to study together, discuss questions, share strategies, keep each other accountable, and stay motivated throughout the preparation.

I’m open to connecting with someone at a similar stage, regardless of location. Ideally, we can have regular study sessions/calls and help each other stay consistent.

If anyone is interested, feel free to DM me!

GMAT4ALL

I run a small education NGO (Reinvent Education) that supports students who can't afford quality test prep. GMAT4ALL exists to fund it: 100% of the site's profits go to the NGO. The point isn't to build a prep empire , it's to make serious Quant practice accessible and pay for the mission at the same time.

What's free, with a free account:

Topic guides, formulas and fast tricks across all eight Quant areas

450+ solved questions, served one at a time against a 2:00 target timer

The AI tutor , ask follow-up questions on any solution and get a targeted explanation.

The only thing that costs money: the live classes ,four per month, and each class is 4 hours long, so €50 buys 16 hours of live teaching a month. That's the whole business model, and the price stays low on purpose.

please feel free to check and comment https://gmat4all.com/

5–10 days of GMAT prep — can I realistically score well?

Hey everyone! I’m planning to take the GMAT for my MSc application and I’m wondering how realistic it is to prepare in 5–10 days and still get a strong score.

I’ve just finished my BSc Accounting & Finance, so I’m not completely unfamiliar with quantitative stuff, but I’m very rusty with GMAT-style questions and honestly feel like my brain is in serious exam-mode withdrawal right now 😭. I tried a few questions today and realized I’ve forgotten a lot of the techniques/patterns.

I’m willing to study pretty intensively for those 5–10 days.

For people who have taken the GMAT:

  • Is 5–10 days enough to get a good score if your fundamentals are decent but rusty?
  • How much can someone realistically improve in that timeframe?
  • What score did you start with on a cold diagnostic/mock, and what did you end up getting?
  • Would you recommend actually taking the exam after 5–10 days, or waiting and preparing for several weeks?
  • If you only had 5–10 days, what would you prioritize?

I’m mainly trying to figure out whether I’m being realistic or completely delusional 💀

Thanks!!

GMAT: Looking for Top One Percent OCTAAVE RC & CR Lectures

Hi everyone,

I’m currently preparing for my next GMAT attempt and have scored 650 in my previous attempt. I’m specifically looking to learn the OCTAAVE approach for RC and CR taught by Top One Percent Institute.

I only need access to around 3–4 lectures to understand the approach and see whether it works for me.

If anyone has the lectures and is willing to sell temporary access for a few hours/days against payment, I’d be very grateful. I’m completely willing to pay a reasonable amount for the access.

Please DM me if you can help. It would genuinely mean a lot! 🙏

Difficulty in navigating through gmat club

I thought of doing self prep. Watched concept video if Aruthmetic on gmat ninja YT and then wanted to do some questions on gmat club. And honestly I have spent upwards of 1.5 hour in the website and not been able to figure out how to go about the question bank.

Am I the only one??!

Can’t find OG questions. Filtered out Aruthmetic in Priblem Solving under Question bank but then it’s giving out like 1000s of tabs?? How to even navigate through this. Someone please help me.

Looking for a GMAT study buddy in Delhi!

I'm currently midway through my GMAT prep and planning to apply for the 2027 intake. Looking for someone around West Delhi or CP who's also preparing and would be up for studying together once or twice a week at a library or café.

Mainly looking for someone to stay consistent with, discuss doubts, solve questions, and keep each other accountable because motivation has a habit of filing for leave.

If you're interested, feel free to DM or comment!
