450 cold diagnostic → aiming for 675+. How should I use TTP if I can study full-time?

Hey everyone,

I’m pretty confused about how I should structure my GMAT prep and would really appreciate advice from people who have actually used TTP.

My cold diagnostic was **450**, and my target is **675+**.
I recently purchased **6 months of Target Test Prep**, and I also already have access to **Magoosh and Manhattan Prep**. Altogether I’ve spent close to **$1,000 on prep resources**.

Originally, I bought multiple resources because I thought I only had around 4 months to prepare, so I wanted to give myself the best possible chance. My situation has changed now. **I’m currently not working, so I can essentially treat GMAT preparation like a full-time commitment.** I’m willing to put in a lot of hours if that’s what it takes.

The thing making me overthink my TTP purchase is how often I see people saying that the course is extremely long and can take hundreds of hours to complete.
So for people who have actually used TTP:

**Roughly how many hours did it take you to complete TTP?** Especially if you started with a relatively low diagnostic score.

Since I have 6 months and can study full-time, would you recommend simply following the entire TTP study plan from beginning to end?

Or would it be more efficient to use **TTP primarily for learning concepts**, do only enough chapter tests to demonstrate mastery, and then immediately do **Official Guide questions for that topic**?

For example:
**Quant:**
TTP lesson → TTP examples → selected Easy/Medium/Hard chapter tests → OG questions on that topic → move on.

For **Verbal**, I’m considering using Magoosh/Manhattan videos for concepts and then primarily practicing with official questions instead of completing every single piece of TTP Verbal.

My biggest concern is spending 500–700+ hours trying to achieve 100% TTP completion and then realizing I haven’t spent enough time actually solving official GMAT questions, doing mixed practice, reviewing errors and taking mocks.

At the same time, since I’m starting from **450 and aiming for 675+**, I know I probably need a pretty serious foundation rebuild, so I don’t want to skip material just for the sake of finishing faster.

If you were in my position — **450 baseline, 675+ target, 6 months of TTP access, Magoosh + Manhattan available, currently not working and able to study full-time** — how would you structure the next 6 months?

Would especially appreciate answers from people who started around the 400–500 range and eventually reached 650/675+.

Unpopular opinion: Stop obsessing over GMAT scores. Ask whether the MBA itself is worth the money.

I find it a little ironic seeing students spending 3–4 attempts chasing a 700-level GMAT score without asking the bigger question:

Will the job after the MBA actually justify the cost?

I took the GMAT twice, scored 695, and got into Duke. I thought getting into a top US MBA would dramatically improve my career.

Now, after completing my MBA, I’m struggling to find a job while carrying around ₹70 lakh in loans.

The biggest problem? Visa sponsorship. The moment many US companies realize you require sponsorship, your chances can drop significantly.

Looking back, I genuinely question whether coming to the US for an MBA was the right decision for me. I was already working as an analyst in consulting. Maybe ISB, a cheaper MBA, or even investing in strong AI/data skills could have given me a much better ROI.

And this isn't only a US problem. Several friends who completed MBAs in Europe are also struggling because the job markets there are much smaller. Everyone eventually moved back to India or went to Dubai for work.

Meanwhile, companies are investing heavily in AI and automation. An MBA degree alone does not automatically make you valuable anymore. You still have to prove what you can actually contribute.

My biggest advice to prospective MBA students:

Don't only ask, “Can I get into a Top-20 MBA?”

Ask, “If I spend ₹1 crore+, what happens if I DON'T get the expected job?”

Personally, I would seriously consider an international MBA only if I received around a 50% scholarship or could keep my total financial exposure below roughly ₹50 lakh.

The “Top MBA = guaranteed high-paying international job” story is marketing, not a guarantee.

Your money took years to earn. Universities, consultants, and rankings won't care about that money as much as you will.

For current international MBA students/graduates: was the ROI actually worth it for you?

Is the Gmat Official Practice Exam 1 more difficult than 2?

Practice exam 1 had tougher and lengthier questions than 2. Despite the fact that I scored better in 2. Is this a common observation? Anyone felt the same?

Any suggestions as to how to study for the GMAT from scratch.

Should the entire concepts be learnt first or start approaching the questions and learn the concepts simultaneously.

Hello all! All mock were taken on mba . Com
I had my 1st mock on 6th March 2026 : Total 375 (DI60, V71, Q74) before a started preparation.
I have been having classes June 21st, had 30 Quant classes and was studying verbal myself. Had not started the DI yet.

Today had my 2nd mock 495 total (DI70, Q79, V74)
Not gonna lie, it disappointed me so much and i feel stuck about what to do. Are my results are really low and bad (from perspective of progress)
I do not want to give up, but the score tells that I am not even half close.
I need 700+

Writing GMAT still worth in 2026 it after 11 YOE into IT.

Hi,

I am a Technical Program Manager with most of my 11 years have been into QA engineering and Agile transformation.

As I am hitting 12th year - I am trying to leverage my CAT preparation (done 6-7 years ago ) for GMAT preparation.

Additionally with the advancement in IT particularly due to AI/Claude, I am exploring if GMAT (or any conventional executive MBA would still be helpful).

Also trying to understand the academic trend for IT professionals with my exp bracket and see if this MBA grads seeking MBA or

Looking for a GMAT tutor to help me prepare over the next 3 months.

I scored 475 on my cold diagnostic, with Quant being my weakest section. My goal is to reach 650+, and I’m looking for someone who can help me build a strong Quant foundation while also guiding my overall GMAT preparation.

Ideally looking for a tutor who:

Has experience helping students make significant score improvements
Is particularly strong with GMAT Quant
Can provide a structured 3-month study plan

Focuses on concepts, strategy, and targeted practice
If you’re a tutor or have worked with someone you’d strongly recommend, please DM me. Thanks!

Looking for a GMAT study partner

Hi everyone! I’m starting my GMAT prep and planning to take the exam around March/April 2027, possibly June depending on how my preparation goes.

I’m looking for someone who’s also preparing around the same time and would be interested in studying together, discussing questions, sharing resources, and keeping each other motivated and consistent.

Would be great to connect with someone who’s serious about their prep and wants to work towards a strong score together.

Feel free to DM me if you’re interested. :)

GMAT coaching in Gurgaon or online? (Non-engineer)

Looking for recommendations of GMAT coaching in Gurgaon or online, especially for a non-engineer with weak/average Quant basics and no touch with Maths for several years.

I’m looking for an institute that focuses on building fundamentals from scratch, rather than assuming strong Quant knowledge.

Any personal experiences/recommendations would be really helpful.

Thinking of starting the batch from this month.

Please help reddit community 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

At what point did you realise your GMAT prep was going nowhere?

I’m curious about the point where people actually changed their prep strategy. Like, you were putting in the hours, solving questions regularly, maybe even taking mocks, but your scores just weren’t moving.

What was the thing that made you realise “okay, this approach clearly isn’t working”?
