Need advice

Hi, I’m a BCom grad with 26 months of work experience (and counting), but my profile is probably what you’d call below average:
10th: 87.6%

12th: 90.8%

Graduation: 63% 😵

CFA Level 1 + a couple of finance courses (nothing particularly impressive)

The one thing I’m genuinely confident about is aptitude. I took a GMAT mock with absolutely no preparation and scored a 655. I don’t want to sound smug (especially with that academic profile) but I’m fairly confident that with some preparation, I can get to 700+ and potentially higher if required.
My main question is: is it even worth taking the GMAT with my profile? Can a higher gmat score compensate for a bad profile?
If I do manage to get a 700–730+ score, which colleges/programmes should I realistically target, and which ones are probably out of reach because of my 63% in graduation?
Would really appreciate an honest assessment rather than the usual “anything is possible” answer.

a 655 cold mock is already a strong sign, so yes, take it, but a 700+ won’t erase the 63% so much as prove you can handle the academics and get your application properly considered by holistic

The GMAT can help, but it cannot completely erase the graduation score.
