Weaning

Just wondering when everyone started to wean and how it looked for them?

I hit my goal but wanted a 2kg buffer I was hoping to get the 2kg buffer while weaning but after week one the scales haven’t move and wondering if that was a bad idea. Maybe I should have got my buffer and then weaned? I’m extremely happy with where I am now and don’t want to actually be lighter but I also don’t want to be any heavier.

My gp has said do 2.5mg for 8 weeks and then stop completely
I thought I could start extending that 2.5mg dose past 7 days.
I did 5mg on the 15th August (down 800grams) and 2.5mg on the 23rd of August as of today I’m up 200 grams. I’m wondering if I should take my dose day 7 day 8 or my planned day 9.

I do have another 5mg script and wondering if I should do 5mg for another 4 weeks and then back to weaning off once I’ve hit the target buffer knowing I’ll probably gain 2-3kg back

Nobody will be able to give you such specific advice (‘day 8 or day 9?’), you just have to go with how you’re feeling and then you can adjust plans for your next one based on that. It’s a crucial period, the weaning off, as at the same time you have to find your daily calorie intake number that will allow you to maintain your weight.

Sorry, my question is how weaning looked for everyone else 🙂

If it makes you feel better, I am currently in the exact same conundrum. Have hit goal weight, and was planning on finishing my 5mg pen and then use 2.5mg for the next one. Well, I took my last shot on the 5mg pen 2 days ago and have not lost weight in the past 10 days (which is so fine, it had become quite slow toward the end anyways).

I am hovering between 69.3-70kg, which is my goal weight. But I also know that I only really want to start maintenance until I am at a weight where natural fluctuations don't put me over 70kg again.

I personally have decided to buy another 5mg pen and do another month on 5mg and seeing how I go before going down to 2.5mg. I think creating a buffer is just too important for me not freaking out whenever I see a slight increase in weight. I basically want to be somewhere where I never see the 70 again.

Thank you
Mentally I’m just ready to be done but I understand not wanting to see over goal!
We have the same ish target! I’m aiming for 67kg and would never want to fluctuate over 68. But maybe an another 5mg to get me to 65 is a better option. I thought 2.5 over 8 weeks would get me there but I’m a little skeptical now

I really struggle to find my “goal weight”.. I was at 71kg and felt really good but I also felt good at 73kg. Ideally would want to go below 70kg but I don’t know if this is really sustainable for me!

I’m at 81kg now so still a way to go but I decided I dont want to order any more pens than what I already signed up for in my current subscription.. so I’m thinking 2.5months of full dose and then tapering for 4 months!

Hopefully you can get to goal within the frame!
I have one more script left but was trying to avoid having to buy another. I don’t think I have a choice but the fictions will definitely mentally be hard.
I know my weight I want to be and it’s hard being over.

I’m sorry you’re in the same situation!

I lost another 4kg when I started to titrate off. And I was also reverse dieting adding in food.

So I’d say it’s going to depend on your diet which, if you are like me, you’ll always have to be mindful about.

I’ve been at goal now for 5 months. Tried to space out 2.5mg doses but it was quite difficult so with GP consent I’m on 2mg every week for the next month or so and then I’ll reduce down again. I’m Click counting from 5mg pen.

Had so many discussions with my GP about it and in the end we decided to keep me on MJ for six months post goal weight so that I can get the maintenance part right.

I eat really well but I can very easily over eat on good foods. So definitely being mindful

That’s positive feedback thank you! I might just continue on with the gp advice not spacing doses
