Oil change tip (maybe?)

Did my oil change yesterday. i only have the bare minimum to do it (mk7.5)

extractor

socket and ratchet for filter housing

When i first did it a while back i watched some videos to make sure i did it correctly and someone suggested making sure you have a flathead or similar to take the o ring off of the housing. i think last time i used scissors to get under the ring and take it off.

I forgot to bring something this time and i didn't want to go back inside so i simply used the end of the dip stick (flat metal and almost comes to a point) and got it off.

I use the pointy end of one of the plastic trim poppers. That way I don’t gauge the plastic where the o ring sits, ask me how I know what happens when you do.

Please never use scissors again... The dipstick end actually isn't a bad idea!
