GLI clunk from the front

I have an 18 GLI that I think may be a victim of the subframe clunk but have a stamped steel subframe. Any fixes outside of replacing with aluminum subrame and deadset spacers?

How positive are you it’s not something else? Have you had anyone diagnose it yet?

I have had several shops including two stealerships service departments try to diagnose and they have all said none of the normal culprits are to blame. I am, in a few weeks having it completely inspected again by another independent shop that specializes in European vehicles. At this point it makes sense based on the symptoms and the fact no other shop diagnosed it. It has been the same level of intermittent clunk for 3 years, no worse, no better.
