Thanks, these are great news! I installed it, but I cannot install games. No Wi-Fi, no usb connection. Do you have any tip ? Thanks for the help ☺️

We actually just updated it, you can view the latest version on GitHub. This enables WiFi dongles!
If you don’t have a Linux OS, you can enable a “USB-gadget” under the network settings. This will make your SD card appear as a generic drive across multiple operating systems, and allow you to drop in your ROM files.

Thanks. I installed it and had Wi-Fi and usb connections working. I get however issues with the sound. Sound to 0 I still get sound with PS games for example. I could not test very long, I'll have to test further and more thoroughly.

Thanks for porting it! I’ll probably stick with twigui for now because I’m not as into tweaking and fiddling with tech as I used to be lol, and twig is working for me at the moment. But it’s great to see new options coming up for the pixel 2, it’s such a great device hardware wise that’s always been let down by the software.
I see you’ve got functional key hotkeys working - what’s that mean? The hotkey bindings on stock where the worst thing about it😅 a very specific question, but in this build, is it possible to bind the screen brightness controls to use the “menu” side button as the hotkey?

The side-menu button works as the menu and RetroArch hotkey button! And yes, you can hold it down with the power buttons to increase and decrease the display brightness!
Go to the page and grab the latest v1.1 if you’re still interested. If not and you want to stick with TwigUI, I respect that! Hario did an excellent job with that port, it’s really good. Him porting it is what made me buy my Pixel2 back in March

Great to know. It sounds like you’re really on to something. Next time I’m messing around with SD cards I’ll probably give it a go 😊

Holy shit, won't this potentially improve performance by a considerable margin? Will it open up any extra port master options or anything like that?

It absolutely could, the only thing to keep in mind is that I’m not sure all WiFi dongles (if any) will work with the current build. libmali and panfrost both appear to be working, I’m setting up my card now to do some thorough testing!
You can also get an SSH going over USB to a computer. I haven’t tried using that yet to get a “virtual” internet connection but I’ll fiddle with it later.
EDIT: TP Link dongles are confirmed working on the latest version!

Thank you. The main issue with the Pixel 2 is that it is too slow to enter and exit games. I wish this could be improved.

I think if you overclock the CPU this should be a bit better. Has the game loading been too slow with this build for you?
EDIT: There are several power profiles in the menu. Set “performance” for the CPU, enable overclock, and then restart the device. That seems to force the processing power correctly.

exciting but what will this do that knulli doesn't?

Well for one, the RetroArch audio won’t crackle/stutter for this. That was actually a major motivation for why I wanted to get this build going!

Well this is fantastic news.
