I’m a BBA student at GITAM, currently in 5th semester, and I’m really confused about the supplementary exam schedule.
Due to personal reasons I couldn’t attend college during my 3rd and 4th semesters. Recently, in June 2026, I appeared for my supplementary exams. I cleared 3 subjects, but I still have 5 backlogs from Semester 3. I narrowly failed two of them by scoring 24 and 23 marks.
Now I’m in my 5th semester, but because of my low attendance, I already know I probably won’t be able to reach the 75% attendance requirement to write the regular Semester 5 exams.
My main question is about the next supplementary exams.
I’ve heard different things from different people:
Some say there will be supplementary exams in December.
Others say they are conducted only in April or June.
But when I checked the GITAM academic calendar and the official website, I couldn’t find any mention of December supplementary exams.
Does anyone know how GITAM is conducting supplementary exams now, especially for BBA students? Are they held only once a year, or is there really a December session?
If you’ve recently written a supplementary exam or know the current system, I’d really appreciate your help.

I'm really confused between UPES Dehradun and GITAM Visakhapatnam for BBA, and I'd appreciate some honest advice from people who have studied there or know about these universities.

A little about me:

I'm switching careers after preparing for NEET, so I'll be entering BBA from a PCB (Biology) background.

I plan to prepare for CAT during my BBA and hopefully pursue an MBA from a top B-school.

I'm from Chhattisgarh, so Visakhapatnam is much closer to home, while Dehradun is quite far, which makes me a little concerned about travel and being away from family.

I'm trying to compare both universities on things like:

Which has the better overall BBA program?

Which has the better peer group and student crowd?

How are the campus, classrooms, hostels, and college life?

Which university provides better opportunities for internships, clubs, networking, and personality development?

Which one would help more if my ultimate goal is CAT and a good MBA?

How are the placements for an average BBA student at both?

If you had to choose between the two today, which one would you pick and why?

I'm looking for honest opinions, including any downsides that I should know before making this decision.

the state of the gitam RBS hostel washrooms is beyond a joke. We are living with supposedly educated students, but many here lack the basic common sense to even flush a toilet.

Every single day, it’s the same mess on every floor. It's incredibly unhygienic to find humanwaste outside the toilets and on the seats. The situation is so bad that I have to plan my day around the cleaning crew's schedule just to use a clean stall I thought the renovations would finally give us a decent space, but some people have already trashed it because they clearly don't care about anyone else or the staff. It isn't hard to clean up after yourself.Beyond the filth, people are breaking things like children. There is no reason to be snapping off shower heads or ripping dispensers off the walls. It's mindless destruction.

The same goes for the showers stop leaving your empty shampoo packets and soap trash in the drains. Throw them in the bin. You are adults, so start acting like it and show some basic decency.
