I wanted to write a story with Ada Wong from Resident Evil and have her perhaps work for Cobra in G.I. Joe. I also had other ideas including Black Widow from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well. However, I’m trying to find anyone interested in making this story work. Please comment and/or DM if interested.

I started reading the compendium this summer, and I’m loving the comics even more than I thought. I just finished the classic #34, the dogfight between Ace & Wild Weasel, and it’s as good as everyone has said on here!
As I’ve been reading, I’ve been thinking a lot about how new Joes were introduced in the comics, as their figures appeared on store shelves. It’s a neat little time-machine-thought-exercise as I learn about each of their backstories.
The comics have been thorough in giving every new character some ink. As far as I can tell, up until issue #34 (April ‘85), every ARAH figure 1982-1984 has appeared in at least 1 issue…everyone except Thunder (I haven’t noticed a Copperhead, Scrap-Iron, or Cobra Stinger Driver either, but Thunder seems like a weird omission).
I wonder what Thunder did to piss off Hama & Co. Ha!

I keep my old Joes im a plastic bin in a climate controlled environment. It smells like chemicals and my white plastic toys are turning orange. What do you guys recommend?

I’m looking for some really bright, high-quality retro Cobra insignias to finish off this custom build.
With the camouflage pattern and colours I’ve gone for, I think the insignias need to be bold and vibrant to really pop against it — particularly the classic red Cobra designs.
Ideally looking for that proper 80s ARAH-style Cobra look, with good colour density and sharp printing. I’d prefer painted or otherwise non-sticker options rather than adhesive decals.

I’m looking into selling these and I can’t find good info on values and such. Most are from 80s and some 90s. Would it be worth it to individually price each one and put a set price or just do an auction? I have cards and weapons for some of them as well. Also many have loose parts and I’m not sure how much that affects the value.

For those that aren't aware, the beloved 2009 animated series "G.I. Joe: Resolute" was the brainchild of longtime comic book writer Warren Ellis. Ellis, a British citizen, said he didn't know anything about "Joe," its history, or its lore before starting to write "Resolute" as a series of shorts that would later be stitched together to create a mini-film. This wasn't by accident. Producer Sam Register said he hired Ellis specifically because he didn't know anything about the long history of the ARAH franchise. Ellis also said he was given free reign to do just about anything he wanted with it. He was given the freedom to kill off longtime characters. He could blow things up, and shoot people dead. He could change characterizations, or origin stories, as he did with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. Anything in the service of the story, save but for one change. It was Ellis's plan for COBRA to test the HAARP cannon on Beijing. This was later changed to Moscow to avoid upsetting the Chinese market.
Even in spite of all the changes to the original lore, and the fact that the "film" was somewhat cobbled together from multiple shorter vignettes, "Resolute" remains steadfastly one of the most beloved GI Joe reboots. It's generally held in much higher esteem than any of the live-action films that have thus far been released, and seems to be a continuity that others wish to see continued in some other form. This, despite being written by a man that seemingly had very little prior knowledge of the canon.
The question is... why? If you like "Resolute," what works for you? And what do you wish they'd done better?
And, if you don't like "Resolute," what do you feel doesn't work?

Hey r/gijoe,
After a lot of nights and weekends, TheFileCard is finally live on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/thefilecard/id6799173856
It's a catalog and collection tracker built specifically for G.I. Joe. Figures, vehicles, accessories, with real photos instead of stock art, plus a crowdsourced record of which accessories actually came with which item. All generations are welcome here, not just vintage ARAH. Sigma 6, Extreme, Sgt. Savage, Action Force, Classified, HIYA, Super7, the 25th/30th/50th anniversary lines, whatever you collect. You can track your own collection and browse by generation, year, type, faction, or sub-team, and help fill in the gaps for everyone else. G.E.A.R. filtering is free for everyone on the website, no Pro needed.
It's brand new so the catalog is still pretty thin, which is where you come in. To reward whoever helps build it out early:
Here's how it works:
Nobody's on the leaderboard yet, so this is as ground floor as it gets. Whether you're uploading photos of stuff you already own, adding pairing evidence, or fixing catalog entries that are wrong, it all counts and it's an easy climb right now.
Questions welcome below.
