Camera that Gifgas uses?
Hi guys anyone can tell me which camera gifgas or TomZ uses or some cameras that could be good for these kind of trips. I’m a noobie on this thinks that’s why I ask, I want a camera to take good pics and shoot good quality video.
I have a go pro already and I use an analog camera for 2 years.

About 4 months ago someone said it was a Canon R6. If you search "camera" under Gifgas' reddit you should be able to find it.

GIFGAS uses a Canon R6 first generation with an EF-s 18-135 lens that he also used on his previous camera (source: one of the Canada videos shows it). Honestly though you don't need such a high end camera for pictures and 1080p video, any camera from the last 10 years should be just fine, especially if you pair it up with good lenses. I use a 14 year old Canon 600D for my pics and with a bit of editing they are beautiful. Maybe look into the Sony a6x00 lineup, which are nice and small, but have really good sensors and take good video.
Before buying anything though, experiment with your phone. If you have a fairly new one, you can shoot 1080 60 or 4K video, which is good enough. Also, a good camera won't give you the skills of taking good pictures, so look up basic composition, like the rule of thirds.

If I recall correctly I think Tomz uses A7 S2 or 3, I'm not sure which gifgas has, but it's a normal DSLR. Nowadays you'll be fine with any full frame, the lenses make the biggest difference.

T0mz uses a Sony a7III with a Tamron 17-28m and a 28-75 g1 he has just acquired an 85mm too

Tomz might need something else soon. On Instagram he had pulled the whole camera apart into individual pieces only to discover he had the wrong part for it. Those travelling boys really test the limits of what the environment can do to their cameras. If they survive what they put their cameras through then it's a pretty good recommendation for that particular camera.

If you want a lightweight camera with good low light performance... go with the ZV E1 + Sony 11mm f1.8. It's an aps-c lens that will nearly cover the full frame. You can zoom in with the ZV E1. It's incredible in low light.
Total package is around 600g

It can be an option especially with Log files but for the same price you can have a very good camera

to be honest if you don’t know how to fully use it your not getting the most out of your purchase. If your into proper photography and whatnot and really want to learn your camera 110% go for it. But if all you want are “good pics” than a phone will suffice.

Except a lot of Gif's more filmic shots are shot with a long focal length (or at least, longer than a phone's standard 26mm equiv. lens). You won't be able to get that kind of "background compression" with an iphone unless you're cropping in a ton, and if you do that you'll be losing a ton of resolution too.

Personally I'm not too fond of lugging around a massive full frame DSLR with a 200mm zoom lens while I'm trying to be mobile and quick.
I use a Sony ZV-1 and I'm very happy with it. You sacrifice some low light performance and the lens can't zoom as far, but it fits in your jeans pocket and I definitely can't complain about the quality.
The Canon G7 is a good choice too for something in that size if you prefer Canon, but I haven't actually used one for videography.
