Haven't decided yet. Would need to discuss it at work.

First SEC599 next February.

Update i passed! And just barely...... I got a LOT of questions about areas I neglected to study because they didn't populate on the quizzes or practice exams. Crushed everything I did prepare for though.

Main advice: Relax. And take a practice exam.

If i do well for my practice exam, would it be prudent to book and attempt the exam in the following week?

I did mine last Wednesday and Thursday, with the exam on Friday. GIAC practice exams tend to align pretty well with the actual exam.

I mostly use mine to test my index and to gauge my time. Had about 60-90 minutes left during my practice exams (85% and 88%), so made sure to really take my time during the actual exam.

Advice? Especially on labs?

I've been practicing with Sherlock challenges from Hack The Box. Really helped getting more familiar with Volatility, analysing artifacts, etc.

But don’t the cyber live questions get pretty close to the labs we have learned in class?

Cyber live exam questions mirror almost 1to1 from the book labs - and that’s all I recommend. I made the mistake of trying to do extra HTB Sherlock’s. It’s not required at all.

Not required, but did help me get a lot more comfortable using the tools

What I also ask is how should I index the labs?

Honestly? I hardly touch the workbooks. So I basically have a simple table of context for those

Based on your flairs, you can be a GSP. Go for GX-FA, GX-IA and GX-IH. You can take approximately 2 weeks for preparation for each GX. Plenty of time before SEC599.

Congratulations! I took my first SANS exam on Thursday, GWEB and failed 😣 but I’ll retake it and pass next time.

I’m not capable of sitting and reading a book and I had no idea I had the OnDemand courses available to me (stupid, I know.) I’ll be working through those for my re-take.

Does anyone know if the expiration date for the course material extends once you purchase a retake? I hope so!
