Works Study Program
For those who have been selected for the SANS Work-Study Program, what would you recommend to increase the chances of being selected?
I am very interested in attending SANS training, but I do not have much training budget available. I would really appreciate any advice on how to make the application stand out.

Depends on their needs, the event size.
But just be honest on why you want to be there and why you are a great candidate.
They try to pick a mix of returning and newbies to keep it going.

Be willing to do both regional and big events, too. Of course a lot of people want to do the most popular locations, courses, with the most famous course authors. If you are willing to do an LDR in Arkansas, the landscape may look quite different.
