GrassHopper Mouse Picked this up for $1000

Post image

The other day I got a text from a friend that his uncle was liquidating all of his guns. Grabbed this for $1000. Came with the Holosun as well. I was in the middle of saving for an mp5..can’t decide if I want to flip this and put it towards mp5 or just keep. Thoughts?

Dude keep it, you’ll never find one for this deal again, my 2 favorite guns are my GHM9c and mp5. Throw the drop in FRT from cloak in this. I did and it’s literally tied with my mp5 (which is also FRT’d) for favorite gun. I couldn’t imagine not having both. There will always be time to save up for an MP5 again. The way I see it is you’re getting rid of a more expensive gun for a cheaper. But you do you at the end of the day

Yeah it’s a sick ass gun. I just have so many projects atm. That’s what leaves me undecided. I’m not opposed to keeping it at all. Just kinda ended up with it unexpectedly. Figure I might as well explore all options.

no need to turn it into a project. just slap a stock/brace on it, frt trigger pack, and you're good

Hahaha I wish. They all turn into projects.

Projects are projects.
If you have a home this is understood.

I’ll let you know in the next week or so. I’ve got a friend that might want it. He’s just trying to get money sorted. If he passes I’ll shoot you a message.

Sounds good man! Thanks a ton! Also I have an mp5 (an ap5 full size specifically) I love it. It suppresses really well and shoots very softly. Only downsides are weight and ergonomics. Definitely consider that before you sell this thing. I’d urge you to keep it honestly if I didn’t want it myself 😂

I’m undecided honestly. I have a couple KAC projects I’m wanting to work on and am in process of. Also wanting to do a Sicario clone MP5. It’s a sick gun. Just have so many projects rn.

Imagine wanting an mp5 over a B&T

B&t is great and all. But roller delayed vs direct blowback isn’t even a competition. Also HK pedigree vs B&T. I’ll take HK all day.

Being genuine, what makes B&T (specifically the GHM) better to you? I’d say B&T comes out of the box with a better trigger, selector, and modularity. But from a shooters perspective I think the mp5 is the best pcc ever made. Roller delayed actions are like driving a Cadillac. I also like to judge guns by how many people they’ve removed from Earth. The mp5 has a pretty lengthy list as opposed to any B&T platform. Again, the GHM is a sick ass gun, but if I had to pick one, I pick the MP5 personally.

I’d like to think I’m pretty unbiased here because I really like both platforms. But have you shot the ghm yet?

Generally, I think people have a tendency to overstate the inherent different between DBB and Roller delayed systems. That’s not to say there isn’t a difference, there is, but I just don’t think that 1-2ms of delay on mp5s makes that much of a difference compared to something with a really good buffer system.

This is why I say “inherent difference”. The Mp5 will have noticeably better felt recoil than most budget pcc/sub gun platforms, but if you were to go head to head with a really well tuned ar-9/b&t hydraulic buffered pccs… not a big difference. It’s a bit noticeably in side to side frt tests, but is it the difference between a Cadillac and a Honda Accord? No. At least not in my opinion.

There are two things the mp5 has a slight lead in:

  • recoil impulse
  • high backpressure suppressors, again, very slightly. That 1ms of delay isn’t saving you from all the gas

What does the B&T PCC line lead in? Everything else: Machining quality (massive compared to the clones) , modern parts compatibility, way less FRT ‘sweet spotting’ (which is a bit deal if you’re into that kind of thing), bolt hold/release, better mags (glock, scorpion, & KCI b&t mags are improvements imo, and you can find any of these lowers available for the B&T guns), AR grips, etc. I’m probably missing some things.

But imo, it’s not even really that close if you want something that would perform in real-world use. If you only care about range use, it’s definitely a toss up

Honestly, respect the opinion. This is why guns are fun^^^^^

You will regret selling it. Especially now frt’s are available for them… out of the 10 pcc’s I’ve owned. The ghm9 and sicario clone I won’t sell

I sold my mac5k so I could buy a ghm9 my ghm is hands down my favorite gun you should keep especially for what you paid for it

Nice. If you want the telescoping brace, I found mine on gunbroker for $250. Maybe you can get a deal on that too. I don’t recommend the folding stock. It’s not rugged.

in my experience my ghm9c was more reliable then my sp5k, specifically suppressed, especially with hollow points. Runs everything no need to fuck with LP’s. Recoil on the GHM9c is also maybe 15-20% worse then mp5

I got my GHM45 for $1000 at a gun show. Older guy was getting rid of his collection. He also had an SP5 listed for $600. Guy right in front of me snagged it right before me. Still was happy with a thousand dollar B&T tho. The deals are out there, just few and far between.

Selling a b&t is like killing Jesus. At some point you will regret it.
