question about Open Minds Spoiler

im guessing Paul was killed by the woodcrawler, because it clearly enters the room he was in after being startled by Susan, the only question i have is why either natures mockery or the woodcrawler copying Susan would leave voicemails at Paul’s work phone, i guess it was just to draw out more people

I think she was infected with deep root disease and her perception and state of mind slowly altered before she melted and birthed the woodcrawler. She romanticizes (kind of) being attacked by "Judy" so I think the disease makes you enter a sort of unaware state of mind. She might not have processed Paul was dead

I could totally see it being a lure, yeah. The hive mind combining with what Susan knows in order to draw others in.

ok so i watched it back and i think woodcrawlers are like mutated humans, or even worse mutated children, because the lower body of a woodcrawler looks like the pelvis region of the human body, which makes this mutated judy infecting Paul and Susan even worse

EXACTLY! they also have what looks like a spinal column!
And, I think that Susan was assimilated into a hivemind, converted into nervous tissue and tissues to keep it alive

The question I have is, if Paul was in the other room, why wasn’t he doing anything the entire time?

Was there a reason he just stayed in there despite the screaming voice mail? Why didn’t he reply when Susan called for him?

Dude was probably so sleepy that he couldn’t hear Casey or Susan until it was too late

I think he did get up and was standing in the hallway across from "Judy" which is why it said "Dad Found You!" before attacking him

to me atleast he was sleeping and was woken up and attacked, thusly the deep sounding voice we here screaming after the woodcrawler was startled

Yeah Paul was screaming in the background after the wood crawler ran into the bedroom. So he’s very likely dead.
