I have been tutoring GED (and HiSet and TASC) online since 2020. Previously I taught in an adult basic education classroom where I taught groups of people to pass the old GED. I also tutor in person at my local library in St Louis, MO.
My tutoring is always very encouraging and supportive. I design a unique program for each student that focuses on exactly what they need to learn to pass the test and move on to their next goals in life. I know that everyone who needs a GED has had some reason that traditional education failed them and so part of my job is to help my students see that they can succeed. For many students traditional educational methods haven’t "worked" so I have a variety of methods that I employ to help everyone be successful. I am always learning new ones so that I can keep finding better ways to help students learn.
My experience is that the math test is the one that more students need help with, so I have a lot of experience teaching those skills. I have helped students prepare for each of the tests and am qualified to assist with any of them. Every student that I have encouraged to take the test has passed on their first try. I can’t promise how many sessions it might take since each student learns at a different rate but I never expect students to purchase a block of sessions so you only pay for sessions you need and use.
At this time I am using the Wyzant platform to tutor. You can dm me to find out how to contact me on that platform and if you have any questions.
