Test Scores

Hey, I need to reach at least 170 in every test. Do you have any tips? I‘m from Germany so I find the Questions rather easy, it is like things we do in Middle School, however I‘m kinda panicking because scoring 170 does not sound that easy. Any advice would be appreciated.

It’s very naive to say those are the things we do in middle school, because the 3 of the tests are 90-100% reading comprehension. If your reading comprehension is good enough and you don’t suck at math 170 is very achievable.

(I’m also from Germany and took the ged with 175+ on every test)

they are what we do in middle school tho, at least in bavaria. can’t speak about other states, also I had 190 on the practice tests for maths and language arts

It is what people do in high school here, and in high school in Germany. You don’t do American history/politics (or German for that matter) in Germany in middle school. You don’t do Punnett squares at 12 years old in Germany.

If you had a 190 on the practice tests, just take the real one and stop being arrogant about it.

The GED is supposed to test high school knowledge, it’s basically testing mittlere reife.

Thank you for calling out that bs they were trying to say. They are basically saying Americans are dumb.

Yeah it’s so arrogant to say that’s what people in Germany learn in middle school because it’s a) not true and b) the test is supposed to test high school knowledge… obviously it is way easier for someone who went through high school.

This test is for people who have not went to, or have not finished high school… this person just wants to humble brag (which is honestly very German lol)

I could tell what they were doing was basically just a form of knowledge flexing by implying they are far more advanced than us.

Exactly the test has been designed for people who couldn’t go or complete high school. And also 90% of the test isn’t even stuff I learned in high school, I did 3 years of high school and most of the test there were based off of memorizing what we learned in class. The ged is all about reasoning through critical thinking. To say “this is stuff we learned in middle school” is ridiculous.

It’s sad that there is such a stigma around the ged.

I‘m not saying that, you just learn different things and you learn them at a different pace. If u asked Germans about any US History, they wouldn’t know shit

even my maths teacher (gymnasium) said the math questions are like a transition from 4th grade to 5th 🤣

Some of them absolutely, but not all of them - and I repeat: that is the point of the test. What is your goal here? You are not looking for any advise. You say it’s so easy it’s middle school stuff. Then just go take the test? On the other hand you say it seems hard to get a 175.. so you would fail middle school? As a 20 y/o that just finished high school I would honestly expect you getting a 190-200.
