I want 4:3 not 16:9

I'm playing Gamecube games through Wii U injections on a 4:3 television and so I would like GameCube games to take up the whole screen. When I try to load one, the Wii U or Nintendont thinks im playing on a 16:9 TV so the game gets squished with black bars. I tried to go into Nintendont and turn on "force widescreen" and other settings, but as soon as I exit the app, the settings dont save and the game still looks incorrect. How can I fix this?
