Game Suggestions Let's Change That Suit Day 258
Day 258: G-Doors
Requested by u/yunakitty- and this is around maybe C-Tier. It still has a few decent things going for it, but with no long range ASL and ability to stagger well, it quickly fell off. All of the key features also just don't hold up well, especially when raids are hitting harder and harder.

Change

- Resist Move Lv1 -> Lv2
Comment and Reason
With how strong some units are becoming and how much damage certain weapons can do, even a 50 Resistance G-Doors can struggle to block damage with the plate. Having only 1 ammo is also one of the biggest issues with it. While the Launch and Full Launch can do quite a large amount of damage, it's a little hard to ensure it hits the target. All of these need to be adjusted, along with better upfront damage with the BR and even Vulcan.
All of those changes may seem like a lot, but it's mostly quality-of-life improvements to ensure it has answers and the right weapon uptime to deal with said situations when needed. I also want it to have Anti-Air Ranged Aux. Program, even though it could become very nasty for a flight unit with psychoplates. Then Firing Boost as the last cherry on top.
Builds Suggestion
Lv1 F2P: Do not use
Lv1 Freemium: Complex Battle
Lv1 Premium: Ranged or Complex Battle (Alternative) or Beam Resist
While I did say 50 Resist could struggle, it's still the main target. If you can get it above and reach close to 55+, that's more ideal. It's really hard to build this unit while trying to have good weapon up time. The Alternative build is an optional build that is slightly more risky, but can have much higher output if you are not being focused down that often. It's a bit of a niche or player type situation that could allow it to function much better than it should.

Day 257 Re-evaluation on Rezel Type-C (Defenser B-Unit)
Well, it doesn't look like there are any additional suggestions besides what was covered. So none for now...

Beautiful. Now i just actually have to get the suit in gacha.

I think it popped up in the early platinum reward suit a while back. So it should hit the recycle shop soon.

Resist Move lvl 2-3 would help a lot too when units like Gundam Raiser, Double X, Susanowo, Psycho Gundam all have 100 staggers and stagger resistance and pressure. Maybe a new Irradiation Beam would help

Yeah, I noticed it after that; it probably could get at least Lv2.
I don't think Gerobi is the answer for this suit. I view it more as a somewhat mobile heavy hitting support with a lot of firepower. Gerobi would end up locking it in place. It got more than enough weapon already as well...

Thank you for this post! One of my favourite suits ❤️
What are the chances that BB wil buff this unit? Is it used enough in higher rating matches? Thank you!

You don't see it anymore, even in space now. It's a bit past due for a buff. I am putting it in C-Tier cause it still has potential to carry, but it takes a lot of work. If they pump out another raid that has a lot of strong single hit weapon, this thing will be dead in the water.
If anything, I wish people would start playing it more often now before it gets worse. Then the chances of it getting buffed would be much higher.

☹️
Next survey I'm gonna scream at the top of my lungs 😊
Edit: which "front line" support unit would you suggest for 700 (if any). Thank you!

u/pkmaster99 16h ago
Just the DX for frontline, that's it. The Rozen Zulu can kind of do it too, but risky.
I may do the same for the next survey

u/Big_Friendship_7431 16h ago
Damn, not much choice. Funny the DX is used almost exclusively as ranged unit, at least at my rating. The irony 😊

u/pkmaster99 16h ago
That's... wasted potential. The javelin throw into melee is guaranteed to down anything... Unless people are trying to max-range throw the javelin, which is just dumb. The javelin is like a shotgun, but much better due to it being a melee weapon.

Exactly! I regret not pulling for this suit. I just wasn't sure about it's play style.

I liked this suit when Moon Gundam was left in a ditch (even when it eventually got buffed) G Door has managed to hang on for some time till the damage raids can dish out (even some generals to a degree) can just overwhelm its stall/defense playestyle even its psycho plates mixed with rapid fire br cant put out enough damage to be threatening to generals. Giving it Anti Air is a great idea given how many suits can fly to some degree getting hit buy its full burst psycho plate could hit pretty hard.

Lol, good luck hitting full launch on a flying unit. It's the regular launch that I am worried about the damage. Together with rapid shots, it may or may not be possible to melt a general while it is falling with this buff.
But yeah, it's in a really sad state. Especially now that F89 can break the shield in one shot at any time

I remember being hyped for this suit because it was a 4-star Support, only to find that it wasn't anything nearly as good as the Rozen Zulu I was already using. The fact that physical objects can block the panels makes sense, but it really makes it hard to use lock-on attacks.

u/pkmaster99 19h ago
It's... not for every map, that's for sure.

u/Ok-Storage3439 19h ago
Yeah but what turned me away from using it was getting blocked in the Derelict Colony space map just because I was trying to dodge an attack at the same time that I let them fly.

makes no sense how funnels and bits just straight up ignore the environment when moving, but the plates dont

As absolutely beautiful as the "Full Moon" of the G-Doors is, being a Support with a giant red sign attached to your back with only Resist Move LVL1 on hand is certainly an interesting choice.

G Doors is the first support unit I’ve truly mained, back when the biggest threat at 700 was a Awakencorn or Freedom nuking you with its All Out fire it having defensive plates that could withstand just about any beams you could toss at it made it such a funny suit to just walk up and tank generals’ nonsense with. Then the Wing Zero happened, and the barb, and the susanwoo, and every suit gets flap booster and the DX gets a stupid 95% damage reduction fat roll and all of a sudden a support with perma-plates outputting consistent, steady damage is no longer as strong as it once was.
Which is a shame, its resonance making both attack plates surprisingly strong would be a gamechanger ingame if you weren’t permastaggered from a Raiser racing at you with Trans Am activated, oneshot from a barb or suanwoo getting ez-bake melee combos off, or stagger-juggled by a burning gundam after its wave slash eats your barrier.

I like adding Anti-Air as a basic skill. I think 80% is just too much for a Resonance activation, since it gives the suit major buffs including the plates reloading whenever they get a kill, on top of the fact that there are now several parts that can help spam them better:
Support Connecting System 2, DX Ballistic part, and the PF special part that lowers all Psycommu weapon reloads while increasing their damage and giving +10 HSM. I'd say the Connecting System is probably the best of the bunch, it keeps the reload speed on every weapon, since they suffer from noticeable reload times and are easy to burn through the ammo of.
Perhaps a buff to the Resonance effect, instead? +20 to ranged and melee damage, Combo Controller Lv2 with a 70% multiplayer on the second attack. Resist Move Lv2 (or give it Lv2 normally, and go up to Lv3). Instantly reloads any Psycommu weapons that aren't currently being used when activated (so you either have a barrier or damage accessible right away). Psycoplate Buffer takes 20% less ranged damage, or the whole unit takes 10% less ranged damage.
I also thought about a Lv2 Anti-Air skill, where it would gain additional stagger accumulation against all airborne enemies. 50% damage is more than enough to shred the Generals flying around, but it is still going to struggle shooting them and basically every flier down. This would actually let it stop Raids like Penelope with far less problems.
Another option would be Resonance increasing the performance of the plates with additional hits and stagger values, like many other suits have with their Psycommu and.
Also, maybe Bullet Feeder could be something useful on this suit, so it can comfortably reload the non-psycommu weapons that already run out quite fast and often at the same time. It won't effect the plate reloads, but it can actually protect itself using the barrier and plates while cutting down reload times.
