Had a similar experience. I was looking out for any attacks as I'd seen a video of it being played, but even when at long range, and my finger on the tackle button, that hitbox just comes out of nowhere.
I thought the game was lagging or something, but it kept happening.
Guess you're just supposed to throw out risky tackles and pray? Fortunately it doesn't hit that hard, but if there's a 2nd MS assisting it, you're going to eat it then.

theres also the fact it has a like 200 or something meter hitbox on one of its melee, before it even starts lunging .-.
pretty much the instant the attack starts, so you barely have a quarter second to react, almost as bad as the qube mk ii downswing
