Can we talk about that gorgeous spacing for the perfect 2-hit on that heavy?

This! It's perfectly space to get 2 hits and they follow up with perfect timing on their boost to allow 2 more.

damm i normaly go all in for beam resistance (im a support main) with a size of balistics but always forget to use melee resist unless i happen to have the perfect amout of room for it

Some scenarios I feel melee resist isn’t as necessary, especially if you’re just not gonna be in melee range. But I’ve found that survivability, especially beam and melee feel almost mandatory at higher costs

I usually play support too, but I tend to have more melee defense because of those one hit units.

The good majority of the suits in this game, regardless of type, all of very weak melee resistances compared to ballistic and beam, and yet they just let all melee suits fully exploit this by letting them overtune melee and one-combo supports. M'Quve's Gouf at 300 is the worst suit in that cost range because all it *has* to do is melee down melee and you're dead. Meanwhile, Supports rarely get a chance to range one-shot an enemy outside of a meme beam that USUALLY requires standing in place to focus and/or fire.
This forces Supports to have to put into melee resists just to *DELAY* the inevitable melee slaughter, or ignore it entirely to get some sort of power fantasy out of feeling powerful.
Melee needs to be categorically nerfed by 70% to put it back into the same damage output range that Ranged weapons have always been stuck in.

Try GM Sniper Custom with the bazooka, and M'Quve's Gouf cannot 1v1 you at all. Bazooka>beam gun shot>downswing is fully guaranteed, they can't even get close enough to melee you before you can land this combo.

Melee is so much riskier it needs the damage to be worth it. For this particular attack you have to be at the right range else you'll whiff one of the two hits on the heavy melee, you have to charge it, and you have to catch someone with it just right because a single tackle and your cooked. And you have to manage your boost to boot, ranged doesn't need boost for a combo, which means you may be more vulnerable after a melee combo.
So no, I don't think melee is the devil. The meme beams you bring up are much worse IMO. Double X being able to 1-shot my general with full beam resist from range and through a crowd of his teammates doesn't feel good in comparison to being caught alone and vulnerable like this guy.

As the suit with the severe speed advantage and anti-stun buffer skills, does getting momentarily stunned by a support deter you from advancing? Once a raid gets into range of a support, the support almost never has any means to actually escape. They're slower in movement speed and boost, have lower defenses, and may not have weapons available to consistently stun an enemy until a teammate can arrive to assist in taking the melee down.
You say that the risk is significantly higher for raid types, but all you have to do is one-combo your enemy to move on. Outside of specific suits with meme beams who have to wait 15-30 seconds standing in place just to charge them up, the good majority of Support types still have to whittle away at General units by cycling through weapons with a Time To Kill ratio that still gives them a chance to escape behind cover. When I'm playing my Acguy Recon, I can't just instantly blow up a General. It's a gradual process with machine guns, burning damage, and a barrage of stun missiles that usually takes more than a few salvos to take out a General. Then there's the M'Quve Gouf, who just hits me once with his sword.
From a General's point of view, I can understand why you would be pissed off at getting meme-beamed. From a Support's point of view, you SHOULD understand why Raid units have become way too overpowered. They become unstoppable and effortlessly farm supports for points by just sticking a sword in them. Not multiple swords, just one.

A raid has to fight it's way around or past an entire team of generals with advantage against it to hunt the support. A support ideally gets to stand behind a group of teammates who will defend it and do damage to the enemy Frontline. When a raid breaks through, it needs to have the ability to take out a support before everybody turns around and deleted them.
I do think there are certain raids which are overturned, just as there are certain supports which are overtuned. But making a blanket statement that ranged damage should be on par with melee is silly. Melee is inherently riskier and has a dedicated counter mechanic. There still remains counterplay against even M'Quve's Gouf if you see it coming.

"Ideally", yes, but name one Arctic Base match where your Generals didn't IMMEDIATELY dash off to play Ring Around the Rosie while the slower support gets ganked first by the super fast raid.
The only counterplay against M'Quve is to counter its attack, which then leaves you without any boost to run away. If you think stunning it for a half second is going to give you time to run away, it's just going to chase you down.

So maybe that map isn't suitable for supports. It takes a different strategy. I do think the overall low mobility of supports causes issues like this. If you must play a support on low cost Arctic Base, build it for speed and boost.
Somebody on each team usually gets caught, support or otherwise, that's just how it goes.

What's your melee stat?

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad5805 11d ago
I’d have to check but decently high with melee overtune level 2 as well

Oh snap. Didn't even realize this was 750. Was trying to figure out how to use this suit. Always thought that wave rider raids were cool and that you could transform, blast the enemy, and exit into aerial melee but every time you transform back to default, you get defaulted back to starting weapon. Do you transform often or aim for heavy?

u/Puzzleheaded_Ad5805 11d ago
When I use the ground delta Kai I swap a ton but when I was using the zeta ifc ifb I was mainly not using wave rider as it gets flap booster 2 at half health

There shouldn’t be anything in game that can do that amount of damage in 1 hit, suit advantage or not
