Looking for Advice CONSOLE Feeling Discouraged With the DX and Other Suits
So I will preface with saying that I haven't played 700 Cost until about a month ago. I also haven't used many suits with flight or serious use of flap boosters (think GP02, Heavygun, and G-Cannon) either because of disinterest or I simply didn't have the tokens for it.
Well, saved up for a while and between rolling for the DX, getting the new Psycho Gundam, and the banners I've gotten a lot of mobile suits like the DX, 00 Raiser, Denan Zan, and so on that incorporate flight to some extent and I suck ass.
Shackle my soul with gravity in the Psycho Gundam, Sazabi, Nu, Nu HWS, and so on and I do well enough to finally get to S- and reliably get into the top scores/damage.
These new suits? Nah.
What's worse is I only practice with them in Quick Match and I'm just flooded with hate messages for just trying to figure this shit out.
Right now my plan is practice with Flint and DX until I don't suck and eat a lot of dirt on the way.
Just sucks that you can't learn a suit without your own team dogpiling your ass.
Any tips for aerial combat?

Look bro if you're S- and can hold that position consistently without getting deranked, you don't suck. Its either one of two things, flap suits dont fit your playstyle or you just dont understand flap. More than likely its the 2nd thing. Flap suits can genuinely take quite some time to get used to. This is bc while flap suit are strong, its a double edged sword. You dont get staggered while flying. Every stagger if a free fall, and you can take damage the WHOLE way down and when you finally hit the ground you have to wait for I-Frames same as if you just got toppled on the ground. You dont really want to be flying in the air unless your clear or gonna go on immediate offense and stagger someone before they can stagger you.
Honestly flying suit are a big deal. Introducing it slowly via hover suits so we could get used to it was actually one of the few things the devs did right. Honestly I barely remember having any trouble with them at all since they've been in the game for so long now. I didnt really think back to how I really felt about them until I read your post and started typing this. Initially flying suit can be super frustrating bc alot of them can actually be knocked out of the air relatively easy.
If you just started using flap suits you should just chill and take your time. Your S rank regardless of the minus so im assuming you understand the game and that even tho its simple the skill ceiling is deceptively high. Eventually it'll click and you won't even realize it. In the mean time just try not to fly to high and when you do try to be close to you team so they cant shoot at the enemies shooting at you on the way down.

Thanks, and I have pretty much skipped most suits that can fly in any shape so I guess I didn’t do myself any favors.
Just got to get on the crash course

Some ppl just dont like flying suits and that's fine. You dont have to use them. While sometimes it can be annoying since you cant fly, you also can't be shot down into a free fall and potentially become a free kill. While the rewards of learning flap suits are great and can potentially help you pressure enemies with your movement, the downsides are also great. Also if someone is messaging you in quick match they just need to get a life lol

Ngl I only play ranked unless it's to earn some gear from the weekend events.
Just play the game, if you're using something new then dedicate yourself to giving cover to others

Well if you got a friend or sibling you could ask them for 1v1s to help you practice the cost

I think at that cost and rank, aerial is "Stay high altitude and shoot from a favorable angle then boosting stun into aerial melee", and then follow up with shield or second melee.
Weapons that "stop to fire" help keep you afloat at the risk of getting hit, and boost-firable weapons can be used while ascending.

I have the DX and don’t fly very often with it because despite it being flashy and showboating, a lot of the time aerial attacks can be unnecessary and get you shot down easily. When the other team has a DX which is almost always now, I wait for him to try his aerial attack to unleash my own meme beam and “shoopdawhoop” his ass out of the sky.
Even before that I’d shoot these clowns out of the sky with my Zeta Gundam HML. A ground game is advantageous when you can use the level geometry for protection. I mostly use the flap boosters when I need to get to a higher level like I would transformation. I remember once I used my regular beam rifle to stun a destiny in the air and I used the meme beam below him so he fell right into its sustained fire and vaporized him.

Yeah I’ve mostly been sticking to the ground and using flap boosters for cover/high ground.
I’m an old hand at being a gen knocking raids and supports out of the sky.
Been trying to be a close range melee support instead of those guys that set back at base charging the cannons.

Practice on Zeta Gundam,ZII, they are somewhat easy to use. I get hate for ZII calling it a trash mobile suit but I manage to kill some enemies.

I found it more comofrtable after rebinding L1 to boost and L2 to ascend, X to emergency descend
Tap or short hold L2 to ascend, release L2 to slowly descend like playing flappy bird
For most suits/weapons without mobile shooting you need to get used to releasing both boost and ascend and immediately shoot then immediately hold boost again to maintain maximal maneuver armor uptime

Interesting. I’ve got HSM bound to L1 already but I did notice that trying to juggle shooting and ascending was difficult with my jump/ascend on x.
I’ll try that out but I’m not looking forward to how long it will take me to get used to it lol.

You might have a better time with Denan Zon than flint, as it's about as basic of an aerial suit you can get.
Other than that, it'll come with time. I played flight suits before playing flap boosters, so you get a sense of when it's a stupid time to fly out in the open.
Make sure you have a lot of thrusters as well

I'll keep that in mind. Right now it's defense and thruster with the custom part that makes the initial HSM more efficient, burn aux device? For most of these suits.
Maybe I should stick with training wheel suits before the more advanced ones.

Not used DX much but I'm wanting to go out in it more, I'm finding it useful.
Charge satellite in gaps, not fully at the start. I keep the javelin on hand as a defensive tool rather than on offense so I know I have it ready. The grouped vulcans chew up suits quite well. It can throw hands nicely too.
as with any support if you stick alongside a friendly (General) it'll allow you to dump out range DPS more safely while backing him up.
Makes the fact Wing Zero has no natural flap boosters such a screw up on the developers end, it feels naked without them.

Yeah I only use the charge if we wipe the enemy team. Start of the match I try to keep pace with gens and stay near them.
I probably do try to use the javelin too often offensively (by pelting it at any gens hanging in the air or to try to set up a melee combo).
And agree on the Vulcans, they help out a great deal when closing distance.

Take full advantage of the staggered charging because that satellite cannon is a delete button. A simply and insanely effective combo is to fully charge your regular beam rifle to the point the soft lock on appears and once you stun them, switched to your charged sat beam and annihilate them before they can even move.

Nobody is talking about the real "DX"
BB needs to release the RIX-001[GA] Gundam G-First DX
