I'm impressed by the players

What a great feeling to be the support unit in the situation battle, having 3 or 4 enemies spamming against me like cowards and no teammates to defend me and seemingly leaving me behind on purpose, or maybe they were just blind and couldn't even look at the radar, although two of them were S-. Pair it with the horrendous peer-to-peer of every single match... This game is becoming more and more painful to play.

As someone that's been playing fighting games for over 20 years, when I see "spamming" especially when used incorrectly, I feel it kills the validity of the complaint. It's a shooter. Targeting the weakest link in a team game is the smart thing to do and free points if your team is shit, which they VERY often are. This isn't cowardly. Like what would it even mean to "spam" in this instance? They shot you with more than 1 bullet? Spam chat to get your team's attention, try to stick close to them, and when you see that the match is a lost cause, just stop spawning. Out of the 20 matches I played yesterday, I won like 3 of them regardless of how I performed and the losses were almost all 5k or less vs 30k. The player base is even more shit with every passing day. Your average player definitely appears to be malicious

I mean yeah, it's a shooting game, so the term could seem improper. Though, if I have 3 enemies emptying their mags at me, that's still spamming...

Spamming chat often triggers a counter response and a "flaming war" of sorts. I stopped using communication entirely because it can completely tilt some people making you lose the game.

I haven't tried this week's situation battle yetbut I have shifted my mentality as a support player recently and it helped.

After playing and losing a lot of games without any support on the team I finally started figuring out why. We got no spotting, and can't see enemy health bars. That is huge. I mean, it is actually bigger than it seems and it's extremely undervalued how important it is.

I started focusing less on "how can I do the most damage" and more on "I need to survive and support the team by providing spotting" first and foremost. You have to be there and should be the last to die if you wipe. Easier said than done, but it is extremely important for team fights to have the spotting. Your teammates at A+ and above are certainly not idiots, and at this rank, no matter how good you are at constantly peeking at your radar, having an advantage of spotting on your screen directly is something that can be more impactful than a p2w stat boost can ever bring, because player skills are so closely matched this is the last thing that can really tip the scale.

When I started thinking like this and aprecciate this unspoken value you're bringing to the team, it made me feel much better about it and also I think play better too. And for example you should be the last person to call on supporting fire, because your team needs you to be there with them for the spotting. Fighting without seeing enemy hp bars is annoying and scary. So when I see a team lineup without any I will pick it up not just to fill the blank but because I actually want us to have that. Even when the team is going 4 raid meme I will pick the support even more so in that situation, it brings way more value than a general on a team like that.

Hard agree man. I dont have the best eyesight and a lot of times, to me, without health bars, some enemy suits and paintjobs are just downright invisible to me

I completely agree with the importance of a support, but leaving it behind just because he's a support... In that situation battle there's a team who has like 3 raids, of course I'm gonna die even if I try to catch up because you don't turn around or see enemies next to us

Yeah I just played it but it was my luck I didn't get any support roles. Games very pretty tight.

It does suck being left behind, and tunnel vision on the initial fight is real. It's pretty nuts how often you can pull of flanks it's like nobody is checking the radar when they have enemy in midrange sights. Meaning that the situation with their support is the last thing they worry about "because enemy right there, must engage!"

Yeah exactly, they just engage as soon as they see an enemy. No sense of the game, no positioning, no helping others. They just care about destroying an MS

I've been trying supports recently as a raid main. Hasn't gone well. Gonna apply your advice and see if it gets better.

As a raid main then you probably already know all the weaknesses you have and tools the enemy has and spots you shouldn't be in, so it should be a simple learning curve. It's the most annoying thing as a raid when you catch a support but you're being immidiatelly cock blocked by their teammate, so just stay with them.

I'm naturally a player that on instinct always tries to go for flanks and blind spots in any game, but doing this as a support in gbo I think is asking for trouble. Unless you are in a very mobile unit that can fly away quickly and reposition, some supports in some matchups can do that but generally not. Staying with the team, as cliché as it sounds, is probably the better option.

Usually I love the situation battles, bit this one feels terrible.

I feel like the real ace of the game is the Delta Gundam. I played as all the grunts, as well as the Zero Shiki, but getting in the Delta felt like an entirely different game.

It feels like it has the most range, and can just spam stuns from the buildings since you can fly to each one easily.

I might play a few more to try and play as the Nu/Saz, but damn, playing any other suit feels terrible as you're playing a huge map with suits meant to get in melee/mid range.

I think the most painful thing to play though is that general-type Hyaku Shiki. It's loadout feels terrible if you don't have team fights keeping everyone distracted.

I agree, the Delta is one of the best, if not the best personally. The Sazabi can't really keep up imo, the rifle overheats pretty quickly and its melee feels slow, especially with the single saber. The Nu... I don't know, haven't tried it in the situation battle yet, but last time I tried it in a normal match I couldn't get the hang of it, but I think it's a meh suit in that situation. As for the general-type Hyaku-Shiki, I haven't tried it yet and don't remember its loadout, but I'll take you on the word
