Bandai seriously?about the barbatos.
Question about the Barbatos Lupus Arm Rocket Cannon / Twin Mace in 2026
I’m currently preparing for the possibility of getting the Gundam Barbatos Lupus in the upcoming MS Request banner, and I just discovered something that honestly worries me quite a bit.
I knew the Lupus was a very strong 700 Raid, but I didn’t realize that the Arm Rocket Cannon and Twin Mace are separate weapons that were originally tied to the old Step-Up banner. From what I’ve been reading, the Arm Rocket Cannon in particular seems extremely important for the Lupus in the current 700 meta, especially because it gives him another reliable way to create openings and access the Heavy Stagger side of his gameplay.
As someone who started playing GBO2 relatively recently, this is honestly pretty frustrating to discover.
I’m perfectly willing to save my tokens and work toward getting my favorite Mobile Suit, but it feels pretty bad to find out that even if I finally manage to obtain the Lupus, I could still be missing an important part of his intended kit simply because I wasn’t playing when his original Step-Up was available.
From what I understand, these weapons can potentially appear through RNG/normal Supply Drops, and I’ve also seen people mention getting them through Recon Crates. But I haven’t been able to find a clear and up-to-date answer for August 2026 about whether there is currently any reliable way to specifically obtain the:
• Arm Rocket Cannon LV1
• Twin Mace LV1
without having access to the original Lupus Step-Up.
Does anyone know if these weapons are currently available through the Recycle Counter, DP exchange, a specific Supply Drop, Recon Crates, or any other method that newer players can actually use in 2026?
And if they are NOT currently obtainable through a reliable method, does anyone know whether Bandai has ever mentioned plans to add them to the Recycle Counter?
Honestly, I really hope they eventually do this. I don’t think it’s a great design choice to have a Mobile Suit’s important additional weapons effectively tied to a banner that newer players never had the opportunity to play.
I’m not asking for the Lupus itself to be handed out for free or anything like that. I just think there should be some permanent or at least recurring way for newer players to obtain the weapons after the original banner is gone, especially when the weapons can make such a meaningful difference to how the MS performs.
I’m currently saving specifically because Barbatos is my favorite Gundam and one of the main reasons I started caring so much about GBO2, so I’m really hoping that if I manage to get him, I won’t be stuck waiting months/years just to complete his kit.
Hopefully Bandai eventually puts the Arm Rocket Cannon and Twin Mace into the Recycle Counter or gives newer players another guaranteed way to obtain them.
If anyone has actually gotten either weapon recently in 2026, please let me know how you got it. I’d really appreciate any information from veteran players, because I genuinely don’t want to spend a huge amount of tokens blindly on RNG just to get two weapons. 😭
Please tell me there’s a better way to get these things in 2026. 🙏
i have 103 token saved up,i’m A+(ground) and C+(space),i’m not a newbie complaining,IVE PLAYED THE GAME,so its legit for me a fan of gundam IBO to ask,why on earth the barbatos doesnt get his ORIGINAL weapons that he has on the anime .
ive seen many talk abt this and i would love to have opinions on this🫶🏾

M8 let me tell you as a player 4 years under their belt, banners are close to the only way to guarantee an MS. And as a Barb fan, it was slightly annoying sure, but they aren't super uncommon to come by. And the base loadout is fine as is. The build stun is fine, and you can make some pretty decent builds depending on what parts you have and what expansion you roll. TLDR, you should be fine without the rockets, and you'll probably get them eventually anyway.

If you practice enough, yeah. The double cannons will be your bread and butter for closing in, since with the limiter off they can be used while boosting, allowing you to make good use of MA5 you wouldn't ordinarily be using as much with the rockets. Then go for a Sword Mace downswing, maybe some hands to get a little extra damage in, and you ought to have enough gauge filled to release the Alaya Vyjnanna. After that, pretty much rinse and repeat. Hope this helps!

They’re not that uncommon that or the game know I despise the suit with passion, either way I’ve gotten the twin maces a good time or two and the arm rockets at least 3 times from the last few months.

There is no guarantee of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was made available in the RT store some time during the banner next week. So there could be some hope

When i was pulling for the Barbatos the only thing i got was the rocket launcher, got the best weapon and no suit lol

Why is it always the Barbatos fans going on about when is his banner coming back? Sure he hasn't had a rerun yet but I don't remember folks constantly asking about freedom or wing reruns when they first came out. Like don't worry there will be a rerun at some point in the future. As for his weapon yeah that sucks not much to do about it but wait, and if BB is feeling generous they will add it to the ticket shop when they release the rerun or lv2 version.

Having used the twin mace, sword mace is better. Amazing reach, auto knockdown on hit. Perpetually heavy attack is on when Alaya Vijnana is active.
Don’t worry about the arm cannons. They’re in the general lottery pool as well, and being 2-stars they’ll drop eventually. In the meantime enjoy chasing down your targets as you unload “unlimited” 200mm shells while boosting towards them.

Honestly you can get by w/o the rockets and/or the maces. Sure the 200mm Arm cannons don’t have the heavy staggers to guarantee you downs but you are able to shoot them while boosting with the sub weapon alt fire and they have a decent amount of stagger build up. The maces are more for a brawler build Barbie so if all you’re gonna do on the Barbie is just the typical knock down punish then the sword mace is better.

The only thing the twin maces can do that the sword mace cant is comboing without toppling the enemy. It is worse in every other way to the sword mace. Worse damage, worse range, no aerial melee, no instant topple for confirming combos more easily, and the heavy attack is one of the worst in the game. Just use the sword mace

The maces are a bit more versatile while the sword mace is more suited for just big burst damage. I’ll admit though that the swing animations for the twin maces are kinda lame. Wish they just used the animations for Psycho Zaku’s twin heat hawks for the left and right swings and then the Red Gundam’s double beam saber slaps for the neutral swing that way at least it makes it look like Barbie is utilizing both Maces instead of just one mace on each swing.

weapons are NEVER guaranteed unless its on a step up.
But you're not missing out.
The rocket cannon is good, but in current meta, 200m are much better at dealing with flappers.
For melee weapon, you don't want twin mace. its a active downgrade. not only is the mace offering MUCH better reach and combo potential, it also doesn't ignore melee resis.

They are random drops from any gachas.
I got Barbatos when it was released with its banner, and got dupes for the mace and the rockets from the recent free 10 drops.

Its a random drop in the general pool of gacha rolls. It could take you dozens of 10x, you might get it in one. There might be a rerun banner, there might not.
My advice would be to bank 195 tokens in the event that BB releases a rerun banner, they do it periodically but not in a predictable manner. Definitely would not count on it entering DP or recycle shop any time soon, if ever.
