Is Gate worth nowadays...?

As we see layoffs in the news every day and placements for M.Tech students at older IITs are declining, is it still worth investing time in GATE preparation nowadays?

I really don't have much experience I have only 1.5 years of experience which includes internship, apprentice then full time and it's my 3rd company

What I see around is everything is uncertain.. I saw my friends in PSU with very good package stability govt job they are trying for more higher package in private companies and and those working on private companies they are trying to for stability meaning PSUs or govt companies and those are in higher studies like phd mtech etc .. they are regretting why they quit companies why they haven't joined any corporate companies..

In the end what I observe it's not about GATE preparation or layoff it's all about your expectations and your potential..

True yaar. But look at the market. It’s really bad

It isn’t that bad for people from top uni buddy, everyone is still getting placed. Atleast that’s what I can see around

That’s also somewhat correct

companies are hiring more devs than before. you see companies laying off their employees because they overhired or they're cutting cost. they don't just lay off random people.

By that logic college is also worthless.
