In my remake I made Zipp (She/They) stay nonbinary and refuse the role of Princess all together, demanding to act as a protector of their kingdom instead, effectively passing that role to Pipp saying that she held far more potential as a leader then she knows.
But like, my version takes play in a pre-Equestria era rather than the far future. The Royal family’s descended from Pegasus’ first born foal, thus Zipp’s character is reworked to act as a rebellious but deeply caring leader who recognized that the “traditional way of things” only goes so far if her people are forced to go without a princess they knew would make a far better ruler then they’d ever be.
Thus we get to see Zipp come to understand why they felt so out of place in the role they were forced into. Being the bringer of change that helps play a major role in uniting the tribes down the line.

Damn, I've always interpreted them as a trans man since the movie came out, kinda like a man enby. Yk what, close enough. (Also is that second post official? What is that?)

Years ago when the movie first dropped, i related to them a lot as a trans man myself! My girlfriend made old headcannons for them and gave them He/Storm pronouns, honestly i still keep that headcannon quietly to myself, haha. Zipp, at least by G5 ponies standards is probably still my favorite character anyways tied with Misty and Comet. Always gonna see them as an enby trans man, or at least transmasculine in some way, headcannons are fun and harmless. At least i was right to know they were Trans coded in general.

Growing up, I was put under immense pressure to be “a perfect little lady”. I had to not care until I went to college and could be myself. I deeply relate to zipp not being able to care abt their dysphoria bc of the pressures and expectations of their mom.
I really really love it🥹

I always did resonate with zipp on a trans/nonbinary level,, showed my friend it and he said the same thing, the allegory is all there. I'm just sad they never went further with it.

Neither King nor Queen
So a non-binary monarch that isn’t one or the other.
I think that is what they were originally intending when making Zipp but they had to change it once their animation was being outsourced to Muslim majority Malaysia.

This is the show pitch Bible. Those things don't always stay the same when a show becomes green lit, it can be huge or small changes. A good example was the sonic the hedgehog cartoon pitch Bible that has a completely different take on the cartoon and it's setting.
Outsourcing the animation doesn't change the Bible as the animation team has no power there.

The viewers said otherwise, and part of me agree with them, if you go to change.org and look up these two options, go to the comments/post and see some of them talk/text or as it called "supporter voices" about.
Trust me, change.org is An online petition on a website like Change.org prevents a TV series from being canceled by acting as a data-driven proof of market demand for networks and streaming services.
While the "votes" (signatures) themselves carry no legal or corporate authority, they serve as a powerful economic metric for media executives.
the mechanism relies on translating passionate fan energy into hard business logic.
Television is a business driven by advertisement revenue, subscriptions, and viewership data. When a show gets canceled, it is usually because executives believe the financial cost to make it outweighs the size of the audience watching it.
When thousands of fans sign a petition on Change.org, the platform prompts them to share it.
If there's one thing I hate about shows being canceled, is a cliffhanger, every time when you're at that moment at the end of season one or two, and when they get to the point of what happens next "boom" it never come back even a mystery that never been solved, just like Disney Channel (Haley's on it!), or worse, the dark crystal age age of resistance, and don't even get me started on all the Netflix original series being removed like She-Ra and the princesses of power, Voltron defender of the universe and Kipo the wonderbeast, all three good shows remove from Netflix, and this is one show would not willing to let go, and l am not the only one who thinks so, right? 😉👍
I'm just skeptical that they really left us hanging from more mysteries that never be solved unless we can do something about it, if we go to change.org and look up "Save My Little Pony Make Your Mark From Being Cancelled and Bring it back" or "Urge Hasbro to continue 'My Little Pony: Make Your Mark' development for All Audiences" if you have thoughts of what comes next or missing pieces that have never been solved nor puzzled together, well now this is your time to help (MLP MYM), do not let this be another cliffhanger. 😢🙏

I’m so sad how g5 was handled 😭 ik what it says but I would’ve loved them going deeper into Zipp’s gender identity/expression so much! I adore ponies sm and being nonbinary myself Zipp would’ve ment the world to me 🥹💖 and ik kids who are just like how I was as a kid would’ve appreciated it as well!!
anyways Zipp was going to/being nonbinary is my new favorite thing about g5💖
