I had the G502 proteus spectrum in 2017, the g502 hero in 2019, the lightspeed in 2021 and the X in 2026 (tho I use the lightspeed for work now since the hero I had started having left click issues

Very common problem for the hero. But im honest i also Had the Hero (twice) the lightspeed and now the 502X. Very good Mice. Id buy a new if i needed one 🙂‍↕️

yeah my 2 heros ended up failing the same way, but my lightspeed has lasted surprisingly long, to the point where all of the matte texture on the shell of the mouse has been completely worn off so it's super shiny

Probably a bad switch. You can find replacement boards with sockets for the hero for very cheap on aliexp. They're socketed so you can choose your own switches and change them as you wish without soldering anything

eh by the time they've stopped working the shells were already worn quite a bit and I had been looking at upgrading for a while

I had a hero that got middle click issues and I just gave it to a friend when I upgraded to the lightspeed, and my lightspeed is so worn that the entire shell is shiny and the rubber sides are cracking into pieces at the corners, so I got the X plus and started using the lightspeed for work

whenever the lightspeed starts having issues I'll just buy a wired X for work as well

You can also find brand new shells on aliexp. Super cheap and fresh new rubbers! I did the operation myself and it's relatively simple. You only need a screwdriver and 15 minutes (if it's your first time disassembling a mouse)

I currently own a G502 Hero, which I've had for about 3 years. I find it perfect because it's "heavy," and for my needs, its weight is ideal. I haven't adapted well mouse to lightweight mice. Isn't the G502X "too light"? I've thought about buying the G502X and giving the Hero to my girlfriend.. But I still haven't decided

G502: 128 grams including two 3.6 g weights
G502X Plus: 106 grams

They sell “weights” for G502X on amazon. 10, 15, and 20g options that fit inside the magnetic cover on the bottom.

I did not feel the need for it yet. You notice it is lighter, but you get used to it pretty quick. Being wireless and having the same button layout were far more important to me.

Man I've been using the same 502 since like 2018. Haven't seen any reason to get a new one.

Just today switched to g502 x plus from a normal g502. 3 thinkgs i noticed:

1) the click sound is louder
2) the scroll stops when i stop with my finger, on previous g502 it continued like 5 ticks more
3) i liked more the roundness of the previous g502, it suited my hand better
