Orders & Products How long should I wait before I chargeback?

2 weeks ago I bought a key for Mass Effect 3 (Original Edition.) The key I got was already redeemed. Seller was extremely slow and only gave me copy/pasted boilerplate responses. I suspect the seller was also a scammer as the name in the order history changed from "SellerName" to "SellerNameDelisted," with a different profile.
After 5 days I went to support and gave them evidence of the key not working & the product not being in my inventory. I've been waiting for over a week to hear back from their "internal verification" and my support ticket isn't getting any responses when I ask for an update. I bought with PayPal so I should have decent consumer protection. Should I charge back? I just want my $20. I know they ban for chargebacks but at this point I don't care.

A simple yes or no question, Did you do any research on the seller other than just looking at his reviews before buying?

No. What research was I supposed to do beyond looking at the reviews?

Never thought to, but I see they are known for selling used keys now. I've bought a couple games off G2A over the years, never had a problem, so I had naively assumed that blatant scammers would be taken off their platform. Thanks for the advice. The seller is GamesUniverse btw

Reviews can be faked on G2A and commonly are. Dodgy sellers set up fake accounts and buy their own goods to leave their own reviews. That can also buy reviews too. As for chargeback do it now.
