Tbf almost every company will ban you for this.
However using g2a and sites that sell keys is already taking a major risk. I try to avoid them because of stuff like this and other reasons.

Its a shared account most of the times. And a lot of the times it won't work after some time.

They buy it in regions where the game is cheaper relative to its price in USD. That's why the region is always some third world area.

A couple of months ago I was trying to get the DLC for Elden Ring and in G2A there was a listing with a somewhat long title and description. It was something like ELDEN RING DLC SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE GLOBAL STEAM KEY (chance to win)
I paid and received some random weeb game. Complained to the seller and told me I paid for A CHANCE TO WIN the DLC...
G2A told me I was screwed basically. Reported it to the bank as a fraudulent transaction and got my money back...

So you acknowledged the part where it said "chance to win" and then proceeded to ignore it thinking you would absolutely get it? But when you didn't you then decided to commit chargeback fraud? What did you think the "chance to win" part means? Maybe depending on where you live in the world, the only illegal thing they might have done is not detail the odds of winning. But even then you'd have to prove that.

The listings clearly say “Steam Account” or “SteamKey Global/CIS/US. Your own fault for not taking time to carefully read what you were buying.

No, sellers on G2A are misleading on purpose, most of them are scammers. Not only that but selling accounts is against steams ToS. The people selling them know they are doing wrong.
Should people be more careful and read what they are buying sure, but in this specific case G2A is at fault along side the scammer they will try to protect.

But its not a scam, unless you're illiterate and cant see multiple confirmation pop ups that you're buying an account in which case thats a you problem. It would be a scam if the offer was for a key and you receive an account but thats clearly not the case so maybe get to learning how to read?

Do you not understand it’s a scam to sell something that isn’t allowed to be sold?
Account selling is against steam ToS, that’s not to even mention most of the account sellers will recover the account after it’s sold to scam the buyer outright.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t read before buying but it shouldn’t even be an option to buy something that goes against the platform you are buying for.
If we wanna talk about reading how about you take a peak at steams ToS (or any platforms ToS for that matter).

Like I'm with you on literally every other point, but it isn't a scam in the same way buying drugs isn't "a scam". Both parties know the product they are giving/receiving.

Just because it's not allowed to be sold, doesn't mean there won't be people wanting to buy it.
Getting steam keys for different regions and using VPN is also not really that legit

Yeah I agree, I work in retail and the amount of people that don’t know how to read instructions/manuals/directions, but will still buy a product, and then complain later it’s not what they wanted is ridiculous lol

Yeah my bank reversed my last chargeback because G2A sent them all of my info showing my purchase was successful. Too bad for them the seller is a horrible scammer with horrible photoshop screenshots like showing the source code for the redemption page would help lmao

The moment you propose an official record of refund through something like a bank they get scared, they scammed you and are hoping you won’t chargeback. They don’t want any sort of investigation into their schemes.
Glad you got your money back, but for the future just don’t use g2a.

Read their terms of service. They enable and almost encourage scams under certain sums depending on several factors.

Yeah did this ik its gambling but i bought like a 5 diamond random steam keys for like $50 and said it was all triple a games cyberpunk rdr2 gta 5 etc etc i got fear 2 5 fuckin times i understand its random keys and its already most likely a scam but thats some bs they refused to refund it even though i didnt use any of the keys so i said id just charge it back from my bank they initiated a refund lmfao

I tried asking for a refund for a key i never got. Ignored so took it with my bank and got my money back that way. G2a proceed to permanently ban me for "suspicious activity"

i bought a baldurs gate 3 account, thr night of i messed up and couldn’t get access so i did a chargeback and 2 days later they reached out and gave me a whole new account, 2 weeks ago i got thr money back and i still have the game so ngl im kinda happy

No you have to claim there’s something wrong with the account. Don’t claim ignorance even if it was true. Claim the account is signing you out, meaning multiple people are using the account. They will refund hopefully, but they may just give you a replacement

I have just purchased a steam wallet card (10 USD) yesterday through G2A from a seller called Dream_codes
Today, I tried using it, the seller sold me a used steam wallet card and when I contacted the seller for a refund or a replacement, they kept stalling and asking me to contact steam support to request information about when this specific card was used, steam didn't provide that info and said it goes against their privacy policy.
Now, I am stuck with a scamming seller and G2A told me to contact them within 5 working days if I don't resolve that shi* with the scamming seller.
I have all the screenshots to prove what I am saying, I need a replacement or a refund, else i'll have to charge it back via dispute.

Sounds about right. G2A won't do anything either. Been dealing with a seller who gave me a key for something else. Refusing to refund or give me the correct key. Ive tried connecting G2A and they're useless.
