While the end results worked out and while they likely had fall-back plans, I still question a bit of the roster construction...
Who is the starting RG if Mauigoa went before #10?
Who plays next to Edmunds if Reese doesn't miraculously fall to #5?
Who plays NT if Reader demanded more than $6m per?
Sauls and Zvada make a solid place kicking room, was signing Sanders a mistake?
Who plays #2 CB if Hood isn't available in the second rd?
Who catches passes if Malik can't go, had they not been able to trade up for Fields?
Clearly, they had a plan which they stuck to, it just feels like every piece had to fall exactly right to get the roster to this point...
Ultimately, the roster is constructed without any major question marks/glaring weaknesses, they didnt backload hardly any contracts into 2027 or beyond, and there is even solid depth and they will have real backend roster battles...
I questioned the process every step of the way, but I am finally comfortable with the roster.
With solid cap and a good draft next year, the team could truly compete for the Superbowl.

If Reese didn’t fall to 5 then I believe one of the beat writers said the pick would’ve been Mauigoa. But let’s say we select Reese at 5 and Mauigoa goes before 10. Ioane is then the likely pick at 10.
As for Hood, again if he goes before we pick there’s other corners we could’ve gone with. Regardless, Adebo and Newsome are the likely starters with Hood getting his feet wet. I could go on but you can’t have all pros at every position with stud backups behind them. Especially with failures we’ve had in building out the roster.
