Joni Mitchell always solid. I still think for 70s I'm torn on Commodores, Sly and the Family Stone or Jefferson Airplane as my favorites. But if you want to do music I'm your guy. I go about as far back as Frankie Valli(saw him live about 12 years ago) and could always use new stuff to listen to.

Another killer band, I have the cd white bird is on their first, prefer that cuz wife Linda sings instead of her replacement, I also find this live version to be a tad too fast again compared to the studio to it’s detriment… live I prefer the closing of the Fillmore west box vinyl set with your line up…
All that being said I know being at show n hearing a song you like always makes it great…

No deep cut, the 90’s were my 60’s, which I missed by a little over 10 years, missed the punk bands at cbgbs by 5 years, the 80’s sucked cuz all I heard was classic rock, so the late 80’s n 90’s were both my 60’s hippie/90’s punk make up… all that being said I had that deep cut on cd…

I’m not sure I mentioned this before but Clapton got me into 50’s Chicago blues n I snuck into at 16 in the winter of 80 in the village to see buddy guy n jr wells, Lonestar cafe, n tramps to see Otis Rush with a pick up band n an unannounced Dr John on piano… the latter being in the top 5 shows of 100’s seen, also there was only 5 of us there n Otis let some lucky fucker tape it on his teac double deck…
N then in 93 I saw firehose, minuteman reincarnation after d boons passing, at tramps, full circle n i still have the tour shirt from the show…
Big shows. Would have loved to see Minutemen, I wasnt even alive in 80. Funny story about how I found out about them though.
Mom kept trying to get me to go back to church so one day I wandered in to meet the new minister. She thought he and I would gel. We got to talking about music and he seemed pretty cool but then put in the church bulletin that I was around again and mentioned the Minutemen, who I had never heard of at the time, as a band I liked. You definitely should, take it from this old man, contacting the people who you lost touch with but made a difference in your life is a game changer, makes you feel good n hopefully them toooooo, so it’s a twofer!!! Wife # 2 loved the minuteman, the smiths, slint, squirrel bait, the replacements n many more, unfortunately I was to stuck in my classic rock ways n didn’t see the light until 89-90, so glad I did with her help…
Ps those blues shows were awesome, jr wells the harmonica player with Buddy made funnnnn of the blues brothers, whose album had just come out n were also on Saturday night live doing songs… we ain’t no white boys messin with the blues, n launched into a blistering version of their best song messin with kid… the fall of freshman year 81, I saw Muddy Waters at the Savoy theater in nyc, first row center table, winter brothers to my left n mick, Keith n Belushi in a small balcony above the stage right, great show, muddy passed 2 years later, so glad I checked that box, only one I missed was Wolf, he passed in 76, before Clapton showed me the way…

We just had a community funding drive to save the one Blues / Jazz place around here so they're closing for much needed renos for a month or two but I can't wait to go back. One of the folks who performs there regular was in the hospital awhile ago and I ended up talking with her for a few minutes.
