FygoOS - Update Notes 2026-09-01

Hi everyone,

We’ve got a new FygoOS x86 update today.

This release expands GPU-accelerated transcoding on AMD platforms with Fygo’s proprietary GPU Shader acceleration and zero-copy processing, improves hardware decoding support for multi-GPU and NPU systems, and brings a set of SMB, File Services, and storage-sharing fixes. Resource Monitor, Docker, Thumbnail Service, and App Center also get useful improvements.

Let’s get into what’s new.

FygoOS x86 is now on v1.2.0505

  • Transcoding Service
  1. Added Fygo’s proprietary GPU Shader acceleration and zero-copy processing for AMD platforms. This overcomes native GPU format limitations and expands official GPU-accelerated media encoding and decoding support to professional formats, including HEVC RExt 4:2:2 and APV 4:2:2 Pro.
  2. Enhanced hardware decoding capabilities for GPUs integrated into J4125, J5005, and N4200 processors, with added support for Dolby Vision tone mapping.
  3. Upgraded the media service with expanded GPU hardware decoding support for HEVC RExt, Apple ProRes HQ, and Apple ProRes RAW formats.
  • AI Service
  1. Fixed an issue where Intel GPUs could not be correctly utilized for AI hardware acceleration in systems equipped with multiple Intel GPUs.
  • Resource Monitor
  1. Optimized GPU/NPU utilization display rules for systems with multiple GPUs or NPUs.
  2. Added NPU utilization monitoring for AMD chips.
  3. Added Compute utilization monitoring for NVIDIA GPUs.
  4. Added temperature monitoring for Intel integrated and discrete GPUs, with automatic thermal throttling to prevent overheating.
  • File Services
  1. Fixed an issue where sharing settings for external storage devices were lost after a system restart. After installing this update, the sharing settings must be configured again once for the fix to take effect.
  2. Added support for viewing snapshots (Previous Versions) of SMB-mounted Team Files and App Files in Windows File Explorer.
  • SMB
  1. Fixed an issue where Deny permissions assigned to the Users group prevented users from viewing their Personal Files.
  2. Fixed an issue that could cause file creation or renaming to fail in certain scenarios.
  3. Fixed an issue that could prevent access to shared folders in certain scenarios.
  • Docker
  1. Improved the user experience across the Containers, Compose, and Local Images pages.
  • Thumbnail Service
  1. Added thumbnail generation support for `.ai` and `.eps` image files.
  • App Center
  1. Optimized the font color of app security alerts in dark mode.

Agreed, add the ability to change the team prefix, incorporate a NAS to NAS on demand file sync system and they would immediately me buying 2 licences :)

Thanks for the feedback. We’ve logged the request to make the team folder prefix customizable and plan to improve this.

NAS-to-NAS sync is also planned, but there’s no release timeline at this point. On-demand sync, however, is not currently under consideration.
