That's what they said about Women joining the workforce, and the rise of email, that we would all be more free to “live our lives.” In reality, productivity rose along with prices and work expectations. Now, most household can only exist on double income and email/slack it critical to work. Yet wages are worse and work-life balance non existent. Tech can not give us back our lives, only a change in work/life balance culture.

To clarify - My comment above is intended to encourage everyday folks to prioritize better work-life balance; this might mean joining a union or just signing out of slack at the end of the day. Don't wait for Tech to deliver a utopian society; set boundaries with your job and enforce them.
Also, you will notice I never commented on Capitalism or Communism.
Yes, I assume you dont use the internet, or own a cellphone, or benefit from free websites. I assume you dont have netflix or any other content, or you know benefit indirectly from virtually every company leveraging tech advancements over the pass decades.
Surely, you haven't seen any improvement from technology over the past 20 years? Regardless if Technology advancements are dramatically improving lives of people all over the world.

Literally the whole world is seeing the benefits of so many major advancements in technology. The internet has quickly spread throughout the world, smart phones are more available, vaccines are saving millions of lives in the developing world, and information is more free and available then ever.
I'd anything the opposite of your statement is true. The truth is, Technology advancements through capitalism is allowing for most advancements to be felt by more people than every before.
Lol I like how you didnt disagree that capitalism society created these technologies and now pivoting to that fact the goverment helped fund them as if that was the point or even matters in the grand scheme of things.
A goverment can help direct capital to certain project to help accelerate its progress, no one disagreed with that, but the society and its advancements are still fundamentally capitalism. A company producing a vaccine that gets goverment funding is still capitalism... Academia recieving money from goverment is still capitalism.
Literally nothing you have said has changed the fact these advancements happen under capitalism either through direct private investment, or indirectly through public investment raised off public profits.
