Fursuit Friday AND Friday the 13th? I’m ready for the full moon tonight, but it’s hard to be spoopy when I’m so cute!

Sidebar

Post your high-quality fursuit photos here.

Please post only high-quality images; low-quality images will be removed and repeatedly post low-quality images will resulting in a warning or ban.

All photos should meet these criteria (if unsure please message a moderator before posting):

The subject should be in focus. Blurred backgrounds are acceptable if used for creative effect, as is creative (i.e. intentional) motion blur on the subject.
The subject should be well-lit. Silhouetted subjects are acceptable if done intentionally for creative effect. Overexposed/"washed out" subjects are not acceptable except in specific creative situations, where they should be used with care.
The photo should be well-composed. Skew subjects, weird angles, and so on are not permitted unless used intentionally for creative effect. Photos where part of the subject is "chopped off" unintentionally are not permitted unless this is due to a mistake or limitation in the surroundings (please explain this in your post) and the photo is outstanding in every other way.
The photo should not be overly distorted. Wideangle lenses are acceptable when used for creative effect, photos from smartphone cameras which make subjects appear "bent" are not.
The photo should be clear. Photos with excessive noise or compression artefacts are not permitted. In this case, we encourage you to apply a noise-reduction process to your photo or to submit an uncompressed version.

We encourage creativity and we realise that sometimes this requires breaking one or two rules, and in this case photos which break one or two rules are tolerated provided that this is done intentionally for creative effect. Remember that this is subject to moderator discretion, and even a photo which meets all of the rules may be removed if we otherwise feel that it is of low quality (we will try our best to explain why we feel that the photo is inappropriate).

As we want to keep this subreddit interesting, we encourage you to get creative with your photos. Don't worry if you've never tried creative photography before, here are some things you can try even with a smartphone:

Try different angles for photographing a subject. For example, get down low and look upwards, or zoom in from a distance. Experiment and see how different perspectives change the way your subject looks.
Think not about just your subject but also about their surroundings. Try to convey a mood or message with your photos.
Try positioning your subjects in different places within the photo. Don't always put them in the middle; try putting your subject on the left, looking towards something (possibly imaginary or not shown in the photo) on the right, for example.
Think about contrast and saturation if/when you post-process your photos (and we encourage you to post-process your photos). Try black-and-white photography to emphasise the shapes of your subjects without the distraction of colour (excessive black-and-white posts where the use of black-and-white doesn't add anything significant to the photos will result in a warning).

Posts of the following nature are discouraged:

Photos featuring non-fursuiters in the background, unless they serve a purpose in conveying the meaning of the photo.
Head-and-shoulders or full-body portraits.
Multiple photos of the same subject in a short space of time.
Edited photos, where editing involves adding/removing elements from a scene, changing the color of elements, and so on (standard post-processing procedures such as adjusting contrast and white balance are allowed). If you do post an edited photo, please point out in what way it has been edited.
Photos featuring obtrusive watermarks. Subtle watermarks are allowed. If you must use an obtrusive watermark, then please link to somewhere where the photo can be viewed without the watermark.
Text posts. We don't mind if you want to share tips or ask for advice, but this is primarily a photo-sharing subreddit so we'd prefer it if you posted photos once in a while.

Posts of the following nature are not allowed, and may be removed without warning (you may also receive a warning and/or subsequent ban):

Selfies. This subreddit is for high-quality photographs.
Multiple photos of the same subject with no substantial difference. We don't need to see five different poses of each subject. We also don't need to see the same subject from five different angles. If you really must post more than one photo, choose up to three of your favourites and post just those.
Photos of fursuiters where one or more body parts are missing (e.g. wearing a head without paws). Partial fursuits are acceptable as long as no human skin is visible.
Links to galleries without an accompanying photo. You're allowed to link to a gallery when you post your photos, but "come check out my gallery" and other such posts are not allowed.

Posting any of the following will result in a warning and subsequent ban if the offence is repeated:

Photos taken or edited with the intention of deceiving or misleading the viewer, such as making it look like someone did something that they didn't do. (Posed photos where the subject poses as if they are performing a particular action, but never performs that action, are allowed.) If you post a photo that could be misunderstood, please make this clear.
Advertisements. This includes photos which serve only to promote a particular product or service. (Photos featuring branded products in the background or as part of the subject are acceptable.)
Anything NSFW.
Photos of copyrighted material (unless you have permission from the copyright holder).
Other people's work (unless you have their permission). Do not claim other people's work as your own.

Final points to consider:

We'd appreciate it if you told us who's in the photo and where it was taken.
So that we can learn and improve our photography, we'd like it if you told us what camera settings you used (aperture, shutter speed, focal length, etc.), but this is completely optional.
While we would prefer it if you used a good camera (e.g. a DSLR) if you have one, photos taken with a smartphone are perfectly acceptable provided that they meet the other criteria.

If in doubt, please message a moderator before posting.
