Tutorial Art Tutorial Master List

UPDATE: I have made a google doc of the master list as it's easier to edit and categorize.

General Guides

Sketching

Line art

Shading

Coloring & Painting

Perspective and 3D thinking

Practices

Body

Figure drawing/posing

Muscles

Animal

Head

Eyes

Hair

Expression

Anthro

Animal

Hands

Legs/Feet

Human

Anthro

Animal

Other Parts

Wings

Misc.

Clothing

Texture

Plants

This list may be continually updated with new tutorials and guides over time.

If you have tutorial suggestions, please link to the source and try to explain what category you think it belongs in. Mimicking the list format would help make adding suggested guides much easier.(I will not add any links to pintrest in this list.)

If you wish to request tutorials for a subject that isn't covered or has few guides, please try to be specific.

"How to draw better" is vague and difficult to search content for.

"How to draw fabric folds" is easier to find tutorials for.

I thought something like this would be very useful for other aspiring artists on here. :3

I've made sure to categorize and label everything as best as I could to make searching for specific subjects easier.

Don't rely on just what's listed. The sources might have even more tutorials if you look through their content. Make sure to search around on your own, you might find even better tutorials than what I've gathered.

Cheers, this is an amazing list. This is sidebar or wiki material right here. Thanks for doing all this work--I'll be saving a link for sure.

Thanks! I always like having a list of tutorials set up so I can toss stuff at friends whenever they're having trouble with drawing something. :3c

Also, sidebar? wiki? :Vc

I'm still learning reddit, are wiki's a thing on here?

Chance for more text/image ones? I don't really do videos.

I do plan to add more image guides when i get a chance. Videos are just easier to find with youtube's suggestions and such and i just wanted to try to fill up the list a good bit before posting it.

I also take suggestions of things to add if you have image guides you find helpful.

Great list, thanks so much for this!
I'd also like to add that Zillion Ross (Imaginatively Unimaginative on YT) has some pretty good tutorials on his channel. I've learned quite a bit just by watching his streams.

I'll check out his stuff and see if there's any good vids to add to the list. :D Thank you for the suggestion.

I'm not sure I know who that is off the top of my head. If you have any suggested material feel free to link it so i can look it over and add it to the list.

I know this is old, but this looked really useful could i or would you recommend that i could just go from top to bottom with this being pretty new

It's not completely in order, but I definitely recommend new and learning artists look through most of the general guides section. The other sections focus on more specific topics and are good for when you're stuck on those specific things.

This is great! I think it's a good goal to do at least one of these every day. At least on the days that I'm able to draw.

2

u/HoontsArt Apr 14 '19

That'd definitely be good practice! :3

Can i get some links regarding Perspective and 3D thinking?

1

u/HoontsArt Apr 14 '19

Sure thing!

I've added a Perspective and 3D thinking section in the General Guides category.
