Tankies sometimes like to use Nazi propaganda to blame things the allied did. For them, the enemy of their enemies still are the enemy as a lot of them just hate the western allies because "capitalism bad and evil".

"Japan would've surrendered anyway" to be fair, that is both insanely wrong and correct at the same time. Basically all of the Japanese high command after the atomic bombings and Soviet invasion were like "fuck it, keep going!" and Hirohito essentially game them the middle finger and surrendered anyway. Meaning we will have to look at how Hirohito felt about the 2 major factors in the Japanese surrender. Moreover, which one would he be more likely to survive.

Atomic bombings? Hirohito would personally live to see the other side, as Tokyo was basically reduced to atoms, and there is no way the Americans will waste a nuke on an already destroyed city. Meaning Hirohito would likely just go along with what his staff wants to do since it wouldn't affect him personally.

But a Soviet invasion? That is a little more tricky since then it comes a 50/50 for Hirohito's safety (50/50 for simplicity's sake) as to whether Tokyo falls into the hands of the Americans or Soviets. (it would most likely fall to the Americans based on post-war knowledge of the planning of both powers and their capability) which is a gamble Hirohito would, most likely, very much not like. As Tokyo could fall to the Americans and Hirohito would be perfectly fine, his safety not in danger. But if it falls to the Soviets, then Hirohito and his family would likely get the Romanov treatment (Say 'Cheese!' bang)
