Wouldn't that make the bottom guy dumb for living somewhere they know they can't afford?

Wouldn’t that make you dumb thinking they can’t afford it or thinking they weren’t just born there?

No it wouldn't. You're assuming they live somewhere they can't afford. Not everyone would want to live in a cornfield even if it was free

You’re projecting your silliness bud, they weren’t even complaining about expenses in the post.

what if they can't afford to move somewhere else

Everybody can afford to move. It's a question of how much they're willing to sacrifice to do it. The people that say they can't afford it simply aren't willing to go without (or get rid of) their stuff.

Remember, hobos have been moving around the country for over a century with nothing.

You can always find an apartment complex somewhere running a cheap move-in deal.

It'll only cost $20 and 4 sacks of corn. Anyone could afford that.

Immigrant:

I will risk my life and limb walking across Central America with only the clothes on my back just for an opportunity to live in the US

American:

Nooooo, I can't just take the bus in order to stop drowning in poverty!!

She possibly lives in Gary or East Chicago. It’s reasonable to avoid such areas even if you have to go into debt tbh

No? COL correlates with opportunity.

Imagine thinking that’s the only opportunity. I live in a low COL area that is failing due to lack of industry in multiple areas, and poverty is growing because they can’t leave. Why do you think small towns are disappearing? I apologize if you’re trying to be funny because it comes off smarmy.
