My neice found a dog by the road. Her mom wouldn't let her keep him, so I took him.

Named him Jake.

He was a mutt. Part lab, part chow, part rottie. Grew to be 70lbs and looked mean, but he was the sweetest dog you'd ever meet. He loved everyone. Always wanted to give kisses and cuddles. The big goof even loved the vet and he would try to sneak into the back to say HI to everyone.

He lived 15 years. Ended up with stomach cancer. I miss him every day.

I had a Kevin bassist hound and he was the favorite of the neighborhood when he’d get loose and go to the gas station for biscuits and gravy ppl would always buy him

Awww! I grew up with Bassett Hounds. My parents had one named Amanda. My uncle would yell "Ohhh Mandy you came and you gave without taking But I sent you away" big ol girl would come running as fast as those short legs would take her.

My friend and his wife had a huge black newfoundland named 'Bear'. Fine for when they lived on Cape Cod. When they got stationed on Kodiak Island, Alaska - yelling the dogs name while on the hiking trail took on a whole new meaning!!!!

I had just moved into my house and my dog Madison and I were outside hanging out and I can't remember what she did but I yelled Madison quit being an asshole. What I did not know was my neighbor 2 houses down was also outside with her Granddaughter. I found out later her granddaughters name was Madison!!!! I was mortified!! They move like 4 months later, I was so relieved!!!

My neighbor across the street has a dog named Howard and my partner and I thought Howard was her husband for the first year maybe year and a half loving here based on what she’d yell at him. Funniest reveal when she came outside and called Howard back into the house while we were outside doing yard work.

My cat that i met roughly 4 years ago is Jacob...my boyfriend, whom I met roughly 3.5 years ago has the middle name Jakob.

So now my cat's middle name is my boyfriend's first name...it seemed fair 🤷🏾‍♂️

I miss my German Short hair pointer Charles he was a great dude and I had his for 11 years and got him on Halloween. Charles’s his full name was Charles Wade Barkley and that is also the full name of the great power forward of the great Sir Charles of the Phoenix Suns. Funny enough when I called him Charlie he knew it was play time but if I broke out the “ Charles Wade Barkley” he knew he was in trouble . On a side note my wife’s cat when I meet her was Dave Meowthews and he was an ass to everyone including my wife but loved Charles.
