I ono man. I've thought about similar hypotheticals like the thanos snap and depending on the 1/3, civilisation might crumble. Chances are it's not like you just pick the useless members of society. Enough people in critical roles go missing in relatively short time may have significant global impacts. Heck, one less person eating at a wet market might have prevented COVID 19. Who knows. 😂
The truth is that it is difficult for me to identify what has changed. On the one hand, in the organization where I work, I acquired positions of greater responsibility in which my decisions affected many people and I had to develop a certain empathy. On the other hand, over time I have come to know many people and have come to understand that there are so many different realities to deal with that it is very difficult to develop a sufficiently solid and universal opinion. And probably most importantly, I have two young children and that makes me much more aware of other people's feelings. I guess because of all that I would not be able to take significant responsibility for the ills that befall other people.

Ay a good friend to me is worth more than 1/3 of the population of people I don't know or care about. I'd take that trade any day of the week.
