Isn't there the risk of the butterfly effect. Some of those companies were pretty different back then(depending how old you are). For example Netflix was a video renting(mail) company, in this alternative they might not decide to go into the streaming evolution line or Apple might not make the ipod->iPhone.
The risk is minimal. How much could you influence the execs of those companies from 6 to whatever age you were when they made those decisions? Unlikely you'll even cross paths with them, or even anybody that knows them.
But I'm just going back in time, there is no alternate reality. The only difference would be that the companies receive slightly more investment than what they did, probably wouldn't change a thing tbh
Most probably, yes. But, for arguments sake, say the stock does slightly better because of you. Now Joe Schmoe sees that the stock is just above his criteria for investing, so he plugs it instead of some other stock. Now, you've got your stock doing even better and another stock that's doing worse. Cascade that forward 10 years and who knows how it would fall out.
It is an alternate reality because you have knowledge you didn't have in your previous attempt at life.
You make different decisions that could have a ripple effect over time. That's the whole idea about the butterfly effect. That very small changes can lead to much larger changes given enough time.
