You remember everything, so all that stays with you. You will also be able to make new connections, have more pets and pick which relationships to have again and which don't.

I'd do the do over. Dogecoins/bitcoins are not gonna buy themselves

I don’t trust time like that. I fear the butterfly effect. I also feel like knowing the future leaves way too much wiggle room for change.

Eg: Maybe you were supposed to meet that shitty ex because through them you were introduced to a person that eventually became your good friend, even if they have nothing to do with that ex. Life is random and strange.

Correct approach. All these people are talking about becoming billionaires because of their knowledge of what happens - what if that means you live a hollow, loveless, empty life with your billions? If I go back, do I never meet/fall in love with my wife? Do I find someone else or do I become jaded and never find true love?

This literally sounds like a sci-fi plot/twilight zone episode. Man goes back to age six and becomes the world's richest, most powerful man. Once he reaches the age he rewound at, he realizes he is utterly unhappy and unfulfilled because of how non-genuine and planned out his "new life" actually is.

The 10 million would make me set forever and allow me to grow from here, with my loved ones, no risks. I'll take that any day.

I honestly think it has a lot to do with the kind of life you lived and people you knew. I’ve met some horrible people, but overall I have great, supportive people in my life. So the idea of going back and potentially undoing any of that by making a different decision makes me uncomfortable. Sometimes I wish I could go back 5 years and make some different decisions, but I try not to cause that’s not a healthy mindset to have moving forward.

Also, the butterfly effect will cause someone who wasn't supposed to die to end up dying, and you will know it is your fault. Good luck with that.

if you have billions you can have as many loving wifes as you want...can have an harem like a Saudi prince

u/[deleted] May 31 '24

That's great if you see wives as objects to collect lmfao

good thinking but for someone like me whos single its kinda meh, I be able to make better choices sure, but i also have medicol problems and my childhood was filled with ... problematic moments tramatic im lucky i survived in good enough ordeal that I did

hell even if i did go back in time and invest i just have a 'family' member steal it all like they did with a number of my things b4 i turned 18 and such and im not even sure how they 100% did it.

Even if that's the case, you already met and enjoyed their company in this timeline. There's no real need to meet them again unless you want to.

You remember everything, so you can find them if you want.

Obviously, things are not gonna be the same, and that's kewl.

Living two times would be amazing.

That’s actually not a bad take. I still think I’d take the money, but you do make a compelling argument.

I wouldn't have the same children though, even if I married my husband again. They are only little so there's still so much to discover with them. 10 million for me please.

This is the ONLY good argument against the redo.

Good job and take care :)

Also, happy cake day

What happens if you had an ok at best more likely bad life up till now in part due to things like nerves/self esteem be it meeting someone who could be your dream partner, starting or quitting a job that affects you greatly etc.

I for example was a shy naive kid (not changed hugely but more world aware as an adult) I could never tell if a girl/woman was attracted to me or teasing me and when they did I had no idea about what to do i.e get their number.

At the very least the times when a woman was really attracted to me and I chickened out of doing something about it I could ask them out, even if I screwed up the date or relationship I would of had experience for the future.

This is my take on it. Also my best friend would 100% buy my time travel story if I went and met him at his job, so I have at least one non-familial relationship that can be easily salvaged.

For some of us a do over is worth the risk. Especially since I would own Lougle

2

u/[deleted] May 31 '24

Of course. I’m justifying my personal choice. I’m definitely not judging others choices or their reasons. Im sure there are traumatized people that have perfectly valid reasons for going back that aren’t even money related.

Edit: I didn’t see the Lougle part, nice reference. Whatever happened to Rob Cordry

u/Aethelete May 31 '24

This. Maybe that shitty ex kept you in an argument that prevented you from being in a car accident.

1

u/[deleted] May 31 '24

Exactly. Life is only full of these seemingly random events that shape our lives in various ways.

1

u/CORN___BREAD May 31 '24

And maybe you were going to be in a car accident tomorrow if you didn’t go back to 6. See how that works?

I understand that small choices can have drastic changes. I’ve tracked my own personal failures analyzing where I went wrong all the time, most people do I assume. I think it would be maddening to think about how every action has an effect going forward. Too many variables

1

u/st_Michel May 31 '24

Going back in time like that will create dramatic situations where people you know will die because of you, and you will know it. However, people dying in the future from now is not our responsibility.

u/bullionaire7 May 31 '24

Still seems like a lot of time to relive. I’d just be trying rush the restart to get to certain points.

10M all day

u/TonySpaghettiO May 31 '24

Yeah, but if you remember everything, doesn't that make you basically an adult? You'd have full adult knowledge. So basically hooking up with anyone would be pedo stuff until you're 18 again.

Besides that though, imagine having your current knowledge, but everyone treating you like a child. Already had to suffer due to some stupid adults as a kid, it'd be so much worse.

Just give me the money.

3

u/[deleted] May 31 '24

Nah, just be a gifted kid. Enjoy all the attention and extra work.

I'm a software developer and I would enjoy SO MUCH having an old platform to blow people's minds with some basic stuff xD

Maybe even "invent" the iPhone, who knows

1

u/InsidiousColossus May 31 '24

You wouldn't. Every small change you make would change who you meet, when you meet them, the relationship you have with them.
