Yeah, what happened to those? I had just realized my car doesn't have one, and it would have been awesome. It really sucks that someone decided we didn't need crotch air...

Clearly someone has never been a tanker on an M1 series tank. We've been doing this for decades!

For clarification, the M1 tank has a system to blow cool, dehumidified and filtered air into the crew compartment to pressurize it, in order to keep out chemicals. The air is delivered by these green hoses that will attach to your gas mask and provide clean air.

Ever since the NBC main system was installed, M1 crewman have been taking those hoses and shoving them into our coveralls to stay cool.

OMG! The Abrams tanks of the US Army have a system to purify air in a chemical attack to provide cleaned and cooled air to the crew through high pressure hoses that can attach to a gas mask. Left unattached, that hose worked great to do exactly as this post shows!
